  1. Might not be this but you never know.... Mine has always done it - dealers didn't have a clue when I complained - learnt to live with it.
  2. About 1m x 0.8m x 0.3m..
  3. It was difficult to see on mine as they stuck a bit of masking tape over it. Remove the under seat cover on drivers side, looking to the front, its to the right side of the well about 2/3rd along on a stick up bracket. 15A Opera 8. The ONLY internet browser with NO known security vulnerablities! Nobody's bothered to look yet......
  4. Its a rattle/knock that u can't find and it drives u wacko! Sounds really bad over uneven roads and speed bumps.....
  5. Don't the MkII lights have a lever at the back of them to switch between LHD/RHD?
  6. hehe :( ...told you so... :P did they top up the windscreen fluid though? ;)
  7. They didn't tighten up the nuts on the track rods......
  8. sheesh kebab batman! Shirley it can't be that difficult! You chose the wrong dealer Idris..........you have my sympathies.... Have they tried the usual suspects? Ignition components, fuel supply. Something to do with the fuel pump I bet.....
  9. Looks like the e/m clutch has been slipping, either the compressor has seized or is seizing (lack of lubricant?) or your system was overfilled. Anyway the clutch is now worn out (hence the rattling). The good news is the clutch can be replaced, the bad news is the compressor is probably seized as you should be able to spin the clutch by hand with just a little resistance from the "compression". Or it could be over filled. I'm seeing quite a few galaxies on secondhand forecourts with "sold as seen" on them. I wonder why?
  10. Don't worry, it doesnt go anywhere....there is a clip on the lh bulkhead but it might of dropped off.
  11. If its a 97 spec car - Check F30 (10A), F21 (15A) and F16 (3A) if its a 98 spec car (which I suspect it is) - Check F55 (5A) and F53 (10A) Look and count carefully, its easy to get confused which fuse is which
  12. Try this for an aerial booster....http://www.wireless.org.uk/car.jpg
  13. Crushed sills and a sachet of windscreen fluid......
  14. The last bloke who tried to find out went blind......
  15. 1 careful lady owner (don't mention the 3 other lunatics....)
  16. Looks like your warranty is a worthless load of tosh.....
  17. the thing that wears in the arb link is the bush. Sounds like this warranty is basically "all parts except those parts that wear" which for suspensions means it is more or less worthless. You can DIY both arb links for about
  18. mmm...interesting...... might be cheaper here How do you think I would fare attempting a top up a non-working (3 years now) system?
  19. I would think your system is empty and the leak you've had for a while (but been unaware of) has got worse. Vacuum test doesn't show all leaks, splits can close under vacuum but blow under pressure.....
  20. A good tip before buying a V6 galaxy is to up the limit on your credit card......
  21. Discs do wear but I would expect two pad changes before the disc is at the limit. If the discs are worn out, this is potentially an indication that the car has been clocked and/or the history is suspect. Ask them for the disc thickness measurement or get a second opinion from another garage or even a kwik fit place.
  22. Please give us your definition of "full" and "refill"...... Do not fill above the maximum line, this is just over the halfway "joint" of the expansion tank. A lot of VAG cars however tend to vent off water till it settles at around the "minimum" mark which is about an inch under the halfway "joint". Its perfectly ok to leave it at this level.
  23. I stand corrected. When the thermostat is closed, a small amount of water circulates as you say, in at the top, out of the bottom.
  24. They are pulling your leg along with the dangly bits attached to them! There is no belt to change, the camchain is a duplex (twin) chain designed for the lifetime of the car. Only consider changing if you start to hear ominous rattling noises which indicates tensioner failure or super streched chain (rare)
