Last link excepted, what is the point? everybody knows how to use google but it doesn't always throw up the results which is why people come on here and ask isn't it? I can't see the point of hiding information form your fellow co owners.

Hey Wolfie, thats great, thats what he wanted decent information and the help of wiser people on this forum. Thats probably why we all joined and the reason we keep looking up topics. Cheers
-
Yeah well OK but it hacks me off when I am trying to find something meaningful in relation to a problem only to find the thread spoilt by pointless time wasting nonsense. As you say it takes all sorts. He'll probably have a go at you next for using bold text!!!!

I reckon its always worth using a proper converter. If for nothing else if you are unfortunate enough to have a bump, you will probably find the insurance companies looking for any excuse not to pay up and not having proper headlight converters would be a prime example. For the sake of what they cost i.e. less than

For a one off I would just get a large scale road atlas as somebody else has said. Euro Disney is not hard to find and unlike lots of France is very well sign posted once you get in the local area. However if you were thinking of going over to the continent more often then you should probably think of upgrading to european mapping.

there are more styling parts available for the mk1 than the mk2! your just not looking hard enough or in the right places! So who knows where these places are so steve P doesn't need to look quite so hard, if anybody knows (ie wolfie) wouldn't it be nice to tell us, after all this is supposed to be a forum for sharing information not an exam room. Cheers

What i don't understand wolfie is if you have nothing positive to add to a thread why do you waste your time. You seem to do it quite a lot to posts like this and it seems like a perfectly sensible topic to me. Yet you seem to want to rubbish a lot of what people post on here and it gets in the way of a good read.

Standard Of Driving In This Country
mikeohope replied to familyman's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Don't start me on this one, I drive 120 miles a day commuting around the M25 and the standard of driving appalls me. Mirror signal move has now become move, mirror, signal. Patience is non existent, and there are a lot of selfish, unvisionary clowns who think they own the road and can blaspheme at anybody who dare be in their way legal or otherwise. Mind you a lot of what you see on the road is just an exaggeration of the way the whole country is going. I am seriously thinking of jacking it in and getting out while I can!!! -
"Rouen is a good way to go as they have inproved the moerway network get a new map" Has this changed since last year? Went through Rouen on a Saturday last year and it was an absolute nightmare.

Sat Nav Compatibility
mikeohope replied to Galaxy23's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
There are other topics on this subject in these forums. I think you will have to do some mods to the console to get this to fit. I considered doing this to mine but the fear of ballsing it up due to the mods I would have had to make put me off. -
Self Adhesive Window Trim

Thats it -
Doesn't need to be an authorised dealer but they must use Genuine Ford Parts. Has been high profile leagal case about the subject of wether warranties are affected by non dealer service. Something abouth restriction of trade. Check the manual it usually tries to make it look like you need main dealer dervice but actually when you read it carefully it says something a bit different.

Self Adhesive Window Trim
mikeohope replied to mikeohope's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi Gregers you would would think over a period of 10 years plus they would get this sort of thing sorted. Its not actually that noticable just very very annoying, the sort of thing that lets everything else down. If of course everything else was perfect as well!!!!!!! -
On the Mk2 Galaxy/Sharan etc there is a self adhesive sheet that is applied to the window pillars. Has anybody else noticed this "crinkling" or starting to comeaway from the door material? My car is only 18 months old and this has become apparant. something for the dealer to tackle me thinks?

I'm Car Hunting......any Suggestions?
mikeohope replied to mumof4's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
You've probably been through all this especially if you have a solicitor but finance companies usaully want to be seen as reasonable but is there no way they or another reputable lender will let you refinance the remaining dues over a longer term? -

Good tip and a useful site but as you say please only use this as a reference to get an idea. These guys are buying on behalf of car supermarkets and you can bet they will never agree with your assessment of the cars condition. when I sell a car I usually research the ads such as Auto Trader, eBay, ex & mart etc, compare to the dealers and then pitch my price at the lower end always for a quick sale. I always get a better price that a px offer and usually sell in a couple of weeks. I just ran a couple of checks on the two vehicles I currently have and I reckon these guys are undervaluing by at least 20% probably more.
-
Why don't we all do a physical trial using the method I described and post our findings against what the computer said. I bet there will be wild deviance. I can get 999mpg out of mine or at least thats what the display says when I am going down hill with no throttle!!!! However that is only at a particular instant and not representative. Every car I have ever had with a so called fuel computer on it over stated MPG by at least 10% and in one 16%. I don't think they should ever be considered accurate and only a guide to how your driving style affects the useage.
-
It is not even worth discussing this unless you have based your mpg calculation on actual gallons used against real mileage. Do not rely on the vehicles computer they often over/under read by up to 15%. Fill the car to the absolute brim ie until you can see the level of the fuel at the top of the filler neck. Do your miles and then fill it back up to the same point. You will then know exactly how many litres you have used. You probably need to to do this over 3 or 4 fills to get a true picture of what you are using. Oh yeah and if anbody comes on here making silly comments or yawning about the MPG debate, my suggestion is don't bother to waste your time posting in topics you're not intersted in and leave it to the participants to have a sensible discussion. Using the above method I reckon I get low 40's on the Mway and low to mid 30's in town (not in gridlock though!!) in my1.9tdi Auto Mike

Is that because the kwik fit monkeys actually have no idea what they are looking at? If they know what it is but can't tackle it themselves they could give him half a chance by telling him? Has he taken it to a four wheel alignment specialist? If not could be a good start and I know it may be taken the wrong way but has he asked all who drive it wether they've hit anything hard such as pot holes etc. I hit a kerb once in a Fiesta and totall trashed the alignment beyond anything a tyre centre could fix, had to go on a jig to get sorted. First step for me would be a decent 4 wheel alignmentment done by a specialist. get a full report done and then check against the manf data. sometimes the rear wheels can be adjusted by using spacers etc. Never done it myself but have heard of it. I doubt the likes of kwik Fit/ATS et al would have any idea what to do i that instance.

It would help if he said what it was the tyre specialists have said needs adjusting. Mike
