assuming you have a normal rj45 (ethernet connection) from your NTL box - get a cable and check, If it were me I would be pulling cat5/6 ethernet cable through cavities underfloors to network points terminated by plates upstair s ;) ^_^ shakes head - no If this were me I would be installing a wireless router sitting down and having a beer ;) ;) ;)
-
its one box (I have adsl so not 100% on the terms) but it takes the input from your ntl box and outputs to ethernet when the mil wanted her ntl connection as a wireless one we just went down pc world or staples (mate went to tesco) an just picked up one for an ntl cable connection ;)

wow you are still trying after 19 months - persistent or what, I couldn't make anything of the first link but It seems that it is possible on the alhambra at 14 km/h will be interested if it works, ;) beware the second mod - global locking from the remote - on the galaxy at least global closing does not involve the safety interlock on the windows i.e it will force them closed with a possible risk to fingers (esp childrens) if activated accidently e.g sitting on the fob ;) CVouldn't work out what the 3rd mod was ;)

you're correct you need a cable modem/router not an adsl modem/router (common enough) - most come with 3/4 ethernet ports which you can hardwire your computers to. Wireless need not be too insecure - depending on your location/type and size of dwelling - I am aware that the security that I run (WEP + MAC filtering) is not the most secure but my wireless signal does not leak to other places so although the wp key could be broken and the mac address spoofed its not really likely. It's not as fast as gigabit or 100mbit wired but its plenty fast enough (54g) and measns my pda gets a connection all around the house

certainly in our case it used to happen on the flat about 1 out of 3 times when it was cold and there was 3/8 of a tank - tsb (can't remember the number) there was a problem between the sender and the gauge - it took ford over a year to isolate and sort the problem which is why we got a replacement instrument cluster under warranty ay 4 yeas old
-
-
spooky or what - you have a clone  of my galaxy fuel gauge problem there is a post with the details some here eventually got it sorted under warranty at 4 years old

wonder if it is possible for "trainee"'s to be alllowed to edit their signatures so that they can put their car details there - allowing them to post in the new members section was a great idea -
doh - messsage to self - read the post apologies - so it could indeed be a wet cl unit ps messaage to andee :P

central locking box was moved to engine bulk head ages ago but don't know year of OP car - yet
-
ooops I tell a lie - I can suddenly use normal reply ;) and edit my sig thanx glen - I would edit the post above but - yep youve guessed it - no edit button ;)
-
only fast reply is working for me - STILL NO EDIT BUTTON an sig editting is still giving an errior
-
if disconnecting the looms allows you to lock the car then I would be looking at the state of the insulation and wiring inside the rubber boots - click on the link in my signature and look in the faq there are several posts linked in there. Might be useful to update your sig to reflect your car details - get this right though because ATM the site is so FLAKEY you may not be able to change it for a while
-
better temporarily exclude bj then make sure you shove the picture under a spoiler blot :11: for te squeamish ;)

by then we'll know whether we want to talk to you then ;) ;) :11: ;) ;) btw I quite agree with you :) :) :) -
yes some problems are showing up I had the smilie/icon problem acouple of days ago - but it went away - seems alright ATM in ie7 but then I looged in this morning early and have not logged out and the other day it appeared that some logins were ok ;)
-
have you changed how cookies are handled on your machine ?? the site is definitely odd when not signed in !!! If you click login you should get two tick boxes on the right one for 'remember me' and th other for 'anonymous login' make sure the top one is ticked, you only seem to see these boxes when you dont type your name in the first screen but just hit the login button, it gives you the login/password on the left clearing site cookies sometimes helps (main page at the bottom) Neil has posted that the edit button will be back when the sql version has settled down - I worry its gone the same way as the delete button - us kids are far too silly to be allowed such powerful toys as delete and edit buttons :16: BTW until the edit button reappears I'm correcting posts by reposting underneath - if quickly enough it will add to the post above (if its still yours) otherwise it just adds another post to the server (+ overhead) oh it looks like the 'merge post' time has been changed as well ;)
-
perhaps its intermittently forgetting to change gear :16: it would tie in with the error message ;)
-
Yes Maz, Neil and I are all getting it - Maz and Neil can edit sigs in the admin panel but Neil says Glen needs to do some fixing - BTW it gives you the sig too long error if there is only 5 characters - its Bust
