  1. the admin was probably putting the youngest of 4 to bed
  2. succinct and to the point  I assume you would be interested in an update .... as would we all  sometimes you have to be patient
  3. Years ago (soon after join9ng) I used to rely on email notification to find new posts and certainly as mumof4 says it has its moments - at one point it stopped for several months - at other times as my isp or email provider played with their spam filtering it stopped - in short it is not really reliable (well it is if it feels like it but I wouldn't bet my life on it) nowadays I tend to click the view new post button - if you haven't logged in for a while you can set the period of time at the botton right of the page
  4. thanx maz - just checked csj's profile while you were posting that
  5. what fuel tdi or 2.3 need some details .... if tdi - first thing to do is identify exactly where rthe smoke is comming from main exhaust or aux heater exhaust (under nearside, front of rear wheelarch) which points towards the rear
  6. yes sounds about the same as ours  which I've always found odd since the best mpg doesn't seem to be at 55mph
  7. looking at the picture - no - but even if it didn't a mini fuse + standard fuse holder 2 bits of wire and 10 mins with a soldering iron would knock up an adapter  what would worry me would be this scenario - 5A fuse blows and you plug this in and reads 17A - what damage would you be doing ?? I suspect its only really useful for investigating leaking circuits although a modified standard fuse connected to a normal multimeter would do the job as well - maybe not as useful as I thought after all
  8. looks useful ......
  9. I would not recommend Belkin - the only part of our wireless/wired network which is flakey is the belkin pci card in one of the kids desktop (rest is all smc, linksys, dlink and whatever the wii uses an whatever the hx4700 pda uses)
  10. but yours is an auto gooner which has higher fuel consumption (as indicated by higher co2 emissions ans tax bracket) like ours
  11. think wolfie is correct ;) happens on ours - always has when aux heater fires up - sure I remember a thread on hear about it

  20. hi read your request in a couple of posts but I don't think I can help but if you can give some more information someone else may be able to.... What trim level Ghia/Zetec/Lx is the control unit the standard ford one or is it an aftermarket unit - is it new/secondhand may help somebody to help you more detail the better usually
  21. thank-you that clears that up I only tend to hear the words (usually in combination with several less pleasant words) from our own pet 'borough fans living in darlo' and never see them written down ;)
