  2. nah - just dont bother any more because.... YOU CANT until you have enough posts could be 5 or 30 depending on the direction of the wind etc really maz I would have thought you would know that B) btw way Welcome Cambb. Shame Maz couldn't say it but kids today have no manners B)
  3. so did you look at the pdf file the (link was posted for you) which is a water pump of THE RUN ON TYPE btw I dont think its the run on pump to the auxheater
  4. I am only going by the posts from JohnR about replacing brushes on the pumps and the cars heating up quicker. All I wanted in the first place was an explanation how the pumps works, as after replacing the glow plug (because aux heater not heating and blowing out clouds of smoke) hasn't seemed to make any difference to the car heating up. I have only had the car for a month (bought it from the auction big mistake) and this site has been very helpful in sorting out a lot of problems that I have had will the car. If it wasn't for my wife liking the car so much, I would be either selling or burning the piece of ****. if folks can help they will - if you dont get any replies the chances are that folk dont know or aren't sure its recent that anybody has tied this pump to the slow warming up problem (I cant remember any other posts over the years)
  5. same with ours
  6. yummy D80 got the lenses and speedlites but fancy the 10M sensor :( will have to wait a while unless I win the lottery but then it would be a d2x + some seriously fast glass
  7. cant see any valid reason for them refusing to make good a standard bit on the car given the warranty - cant think it would do a lot of good to the engine(or the mpg) if you did a lot of short trips since it would not get to temperature - and thye car would be cccccooollldd - would they refuse to rectify a cabin heater fault because it didn't affect how the car drove?? What do trading standards say? I would be lookin at a trip to the small claims court after giving them ample time in writing to get it sorted (14 days response) Do not get it sorted yourself if you want to pursue it this way ( remember the guy with the autobox about 4 months back)
  8. this checker will give distance to the exchange http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php click on the top or first button I think distance shouldnt restrict your speed to 1M some quotes from others on Zen BTW switching to adsl max may well giive you some increase in speed although it may well be variable, with the exchange link (posts above ) clicking on here in the first line may well give you some idea about how loaded up your exchange is (Virtual paths)
  9. no this will short the battery out it needs to go to the starter motor.
  10. s'all right it took her 20 mins to find it  - just don't rant in Technical :(
  11. As digital SLR cameras go they just seem to get better and better month on month. You can now buy an amateur digital SLR which can produce professional quality images for sub 500 quid. considering that 7 years ago we paid
  12. you, really nooo.... can't believe it !!!
  13. ok done the links in the 3 posts
  14. what dOf
  15. sounds a bit like a battery problem - heating a effact of current being drawn can liven up a battery as a temporary thing so would get better umm may be a bit cynical to consider that kwik fit may be avaoiding a warranty issue
  16. good shots those - liked the first and last, yes moon with the 200 - + cropped dof field is always problem with macro shots  whatever the lens
  17. 18-70 zoom 55-200 zoom 105 f2.8 macro (nikon call it micro) sb600 and sb800 wireless triggered speedlights pictures here BTW like the fish - don't know much about them - was that taken under metal halogen (hallide) lighting ??
  18. looked at the canon 350 but found it a bit small for my hands so ended up with a nikon D50 since I didnt have any lenses from slr film days (was minolta but sold then all)
  19. and you - unless you have a LLU (local loop unbundeled) connection or cable the lines and exchange equipment are bt anyway - how modern/what condition are the luck of the draw
  20. phobophobia - fear of phobias  the long list of phobias couldn't find a fear of lists (to do especially)

  23. umm this is not a characteristic of the mk2 diesel wonder about a temp sensor telling porkies to the ecu and so getting the mixture wrong in the cold! (bit like the fraud techs telling porkies to you ) btw welcome to the forum get them to check the freewheel pulley on the alternator !! might cause your shudder !, and while your at it worth unplugging the maf and checking how it drives then - huge difference = its ok little difference = replace it (40K is a tadge early though)
