Good service from Greatbridge Motors in Romsey. They know what they are doing and don't bend sills, and are a little cheaper than the ford dealer. Must admit I would use them if the price was the same. When my wifes cam belt broke on the driveway they towed the car fixed it and returned and put the bill and keys through the letter box, all at no extra charge!

My guess is that you will not be using them again. Are you going to name and shame them? So far I have found that the guys in Farnborough dealership do not hesitate in putting things right when you point out mistakes. As always there are good and bad. Mine will be going to an independent garage for servicing I will make sure I provide the oil.

Never trust the tyre fitters!!! They only put enough air in to pop the bead on always check the pressures asap and the torque on the wheel nuts within 50 miles of driving.

Thanks to Nik I got the light unit out and stripped it down to the pcb with the leds attached. All resistors were good and every led worked on their own but no luck in finding the fault. There were 3 lit at each end at only half brightness.

Thanks Dave I thought it looked right but know the post facelift mirrors are different between the models but the galaxy kept the originals. Think I will bid and risk it.

Mine fired up to hurrah! I feared mine to be dead or maimed but obviuosly it needs to be a bit colder for some of them to wake up. I was alarmed at first as it did not fire up when the car was idleing while the heated screen did its thing, it was only when I increased the revs that it started.

I have been looking for a near side door mirror and saw one on ebay Item number: 260047006073 part number 7M2 857 507 G 01C It says VW part but it looks right to me. Are the early sharan mirrors the same as the galaxy?

2003 was the year they cahnged the interval for the cam belt. Mine is every 40k and was an april build, later they changed things a couple of months later to 60k but not sure if they changed it back again.

Did you get copies of your original and changed maps as part of the deal? Not that you would want to go back to normal now! What is the fuel consumption like?

I think I will go with that option, what size spade connecors did you use? ones for glove box light are very small thsoe look bigger.

Are there any pics of the sharan replacement yet? I like the look of the new galaxy from the outside but don't like the flappy folding seats.

I was disappointed by the choices offered by micheldever too. I live in Romsey and have not found any Nokian stockists in the area, I think I am going to go for the Fotuna's that SparkyPaul has been impressed with and get them from My Tyres and use a local garage to fit them.

Wish it was that easy on the MKII cover is sort of intergral to the tailgate, cant see any clips to remove it. I can just about get my fingers onto the gap where the light unit is but cannot feel any clips to release. wish I had a copy of elsa win or TIS

If you followed the ongoing saga of mo4 and her galaxy you would know that full run is the make of tyre she had put on (as it was cheap) when one of hers fell apart.

Now down to one! Is this prone to failure or could it be another problem? Thought it could not be the wiring which has affected many as that results in no light at all.

I have tried to source them from scrap dealers but with not luck so far.

I need two of the connectors which go into the boot lights and a glove box light connector. are these available as spares or is it part of the loom? is the loom slpit into sections if so which one will i need?

I know this is a dealer job only! :lol: Does anyone know a: how to remove the high level brake light b: Why only two bulbs may be lit c: how do you change the bulb I can easily believe that ford would say you have to change the entire component and charge a fortune :blink:

let me guess he wanted cash only? Thanks for the warning I was thinking of a remap myself. What is his seller id on ebay? Would a pinned section on trusted mechanics etc be a good idea? I have found an excellent garage locally who service mine and don't rip you off.
