Cannot Adjust Headlights
jwilliams replied to b318isp's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If you have turned the adjuster too far the screw adjuster and the headlamp refector pop apart (I know I did it last wednesday night). You will have to take the headlamp out remove the back of the headlamp housing. You will find a small ball joint, the ball is on the reflector which fits into a slot on the adjuster. You need to pop them back together then you will be able to adjust the lamps properly. -
My TIS disc covers both

Think it is a 25 torx I used an extention piece to get to mine, had to realign the lamps last night as I have upgraded to HID, my motors had stopped working properly but realigning them has sorted them out.
-
There is a motor in each headlamp. You will find them at the bottom corner inside the headlamp itself (you will have to remove the headlamp). seems strange both going at the same time wonder if the switch is to blame?

I am looking for a program which will shut down their PC's except at allowed times otherwise battle for middle earth is more important than getting ready for school and going to sleep!
-
There is a free one which I have used on the kids pc's it was developed by people at harvard ( I can't remember what it's called) which redirects them to a web page of your choice. It runs hidden from them and seems to work. What I need is a good program to limit the time that they use the computers.

I use WEP only but feel I should limit it to listed computers now. I can access my neighbours network if mine fails!!

Petition To Scrap Pay As You Go Road Tax.

Vote from your PC at home. Read a newspaper article saying if you work for the goverment or nhs they can sack you for being a political activist using government resources. Unfortunately I found out too late!!! Guess they have to go through over a million names to find me -
RF means reinforced (tyres can also be labelled as extra load) which are needed because of the weight of the car. I have put 4 Fortuna F2000's on mine which I feel are better than the Dunlops that were on.

Try here www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/product.php?productid=16767&cat=706&page=1 I have used them for bulbs and wipers and can recommend them. I have thought about changing my wifes wipers for the retro fit aero twins on her small car. I have the MKII and are well impressed with them. Don't know how well the retro fit ones will work on the MKI.

Mine work intermittently so hope repacking them will help. What grease did you use?
-
Which one have you gone for? I liked to look from the outside but did not like the folding seats much (but will save you from a hernia from carrying the MKII ones!) maybe it will have less problems!!!
-
Just fitted a set of 4 seem good so far less road noise and plenty of grip in wet and dry conditions an improvement over the Dunlops

Noise Coming From Headlight Area
jwilliams replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
seemed pretty constant While sat in traffic i can see the beam bobbing up and down. I would have put it down to the motor is both were not doing it. I am concerned the motors will fail anyway if i dont sort it soon -
Noise Coming From Headlight Area

Both my headlamps are making this chatter noise!!!!! The headlamp adjuster does not seem to work either. Is is sensible to assume that both motors will not have fialed at the same time and the potentiometer is to blame? -
New Tyres Fitted At Last
jwilliams replied to adrianf.'s topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I chose the Fortuna based on good reports from forum members. So far I am very impressed, even in the horrid wet weather they have better grip than the Dunlops. -

There are several sets of pads for the front of the Gal mine needed the expensive ones at -
When I was insuring this year they had mine listed on their system as a 130 instead of a 115 when they put the correct info in the insurance cost was the same. If tuned to 130 i'm not sure I would see that much of an improvement but don't know what the insurance company would think of 150!

Need to talk jkspoff into giving up a copy of his map as he is very impressed with it.

Latest Feeling On Tyres?
jwilliams replied to Mikef's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I have also ordered the same tyres from them and not heard anything. I spoke to someone called Andreea today and she says they will let me know a despatch date tomorrow! I was told they are in stock but they are having problems getting them from the warehouse. Was tempted to go fot the Falkens instead but they are not in stock even though they are back on the site.
