FWIW Ford call their ultrasonic movement detector - perimeter and VOLUME sensing alarm check on their site under safety and security Yeaaah, about that......its not good news. I thought i'd set the alarm off to see if it works... got in car, shut door, pressed lock on key and then i was about to wave my hand over that speakerish cover on the pillar (like my 96 sharan has....) AND THERE WASN'T ONE :( :( :( I couldn't believe it!!! I thought if my sharan has it then so should this...WHAT THE F**K? Then i saw 2or3 small pieces of glass on the the floor....all the windows were ok so i decided to check if they were from the same company :( surprise suprise, the front passengers window had a differen name to the rest...it musthave been broken into while in with the previous owner. Now only if it had those alarms, it would have deters the thief..... This also means the alarm will only go off if one of the doors or bonnet or boot opens ..this car has DEADLOCKS, no ones gunna be able to open anything even if they smash a window SO WHATS THE POINT OF THE ALARM GOING OF IF ONE OF THE DOORS OPEN??? stupidstupidstupid WHY dont i have the ultrasonic detector?
-
HANG ON I thought there were only two combinations: Key with a small torch+ a normal key(no torch or remote control) OR key with central locking + a normal key (no torch or remote control) anyone wanna confirm/deny this?
-
JEEZ you coulda answered some of my questions! Dont make me hunt you down...........................................................................................AGAIN! and yes, it WAS vvv interesting

try the first item in the FAQ I've finished reading it right about.......NOW! W-O-W!!! dont worry i've got more questions: are the booster heater and the aux heater the same? Do petrols have this unit fitted near the n/s back tyre? becuz on my sharan, the clock in there has that heating button....nothing much happens when i press it but i actually thought it was a redundant button as it didn't make sense why it was on the clock. Also, my sharan has only one temperature setting as opposed to the two (front and back) i have in my galaxy I've read in the manual that the aux/booster heater has its own power supply: where is this? I've never heard it switched on but then again i've only had the car for about a week.....is this right: the "extra" heater (dunno what to call it, aux or booster) next to the n/s back tyre comes on if 1) the coolant temperature is below 75degrees (and therefore should come on when i start it tomorrow morning <B> AND/ OR (which one?)</B> 2) when is colder than 10 or 5 degrees outside it heats up the coolant, which is used to heat up which matrix? the one for the front or back?
-
urm, nothing exiting, just an exhaust and a few pipes, what gives?
-
what im trying to get at is that sure the engine runs at a lower temp than a petrol but its still hot enough to burn (not catch fire) you if you touch the metal underneath that black plastic engine cover...
-
yep, if the rear temp is higher, then it can only be within 3 degrees of the front temp. it cannot be lower than the front temp so this external unit, does it use more fuel? and are you saying if i run my td engine for an hour and put my hand on the engine i wont burn myself?
-
when you select say 21 degrees for the front, the back temperature cannot go less than 21 degrees (well it can but in doing so, it also reduces the front temp to whatever you have chosen for the back temp) !! When you select a higher temp for the back, it WILL go up without increasing the front temp, up to a maximum of three degrees i.e if both are on 21, increase the back temperature and it will go up to 24, after this if you choose 25, it increases the front one to 22. I thought it was just a recirculating thing? WHAT the hell are auxilalry booster heaters ?
-
If you think about it, all police cars probably have a turbo or are/should be powerful....and they are obviously maintained regardless of cost... check this out: http://fifthgear.five.tv/jsp/5gmain.jsp?lnk=601&featureid=24 !!! if you want a relativly new car then this sounds like the place to go.... (i have nothing to do with this place) ALSO!!! it would be a good place to get spares or alloys! wicked!
-
If the rear only recirculates the cabin air, when i select a higher temp for the back, will it actually heat up?
-
Hmmm rich and famous eh? no wonder you drive a gal :20: and how the hell are we supposed to know what it looks like when its soo rare?
-
urm on my 96 sharan (doesnt have remote locking), if you lock it and any door is left opened, the red flashing LED blinks at 1 sec intervals i.e OOOOOOOOOOOOON,off, OOOOOOOOOOOOON, off compared to the usual OOOOOOOOOOOOOFF, on, OOOOOOOOOOOOFF, on. But when i lock the gal, (its gota remote this time), even if one or all of the door are open, the indicators flash the standard one time and the red LED flashes OOOOOOOOOOOOOFF, on, OOOOOOOOOOOOFF, on (shouldn't it flash OOOOOOOOOOOOON,off, OOOOOOOOOOOOON, off because the doors are open?) Should it be like this?

Could you please post pictures so we can all see the famous dual air-con vents? What and allow you oiks to see how the other half live? No chance!! :20: urm, what do you mean? i didnt quite get that.
-
Hmmm, is there any chance you could spray the cabin (i presume its the pollen filter) filter with your favorite deodrant ??? I'm thinking it could be a better way of keeping a permanent, nice smelling car!

wow i've realy wanted to know what happens to a wrongly fueled car....what exactly happened? -
no no no NO! by "urm ,so can you direct the air to which ever direction you want? just like the front air vents on the dashboard, right above the climate control unit?" I wanted to make sure what i was looking for.... So does anyone out there ACTUALLY have dual air con? I thought I did untill today....my 96 p reg sharan has climate control but only with buttons to change the speed of ONE fan. I recently bought a 99 t reg gal and it has two controls which change the fan speed of two different fans, one in the back and one in the front. Even the book doesn't mention anything about dual aircon...but it sure does show diagrams for a single fan climate control AND a double fan climate control.... Once again does ANYONE have dual aircon?
-
urm ,so can you direct the air to which ever direction you want? just like the front air vents on the dashboard, right above the climate control unit?
-
right, these posts have confused me...now im not sure if I have dual climate control or not. Can someone who has dual climate control on a MK1, please post pictures of the vents which you should have if you have dual air con. Thanks

never remember the worms :16: is that after you've had the head unit taken out ?????? first of all, i dont get your comments at all second, THAT was too long to type out?
-
oh go on then, tell me what a volume alarm is please please please? I wont come and drag you out of and make you do a glow plug experiment!
-
how do you know what the specific heat capacity is? ok, so you've agreed to the ultrasonic movement detector....whats too long to type then? a volume alarm will then be set off by those tw*ts with huge subs...shouldnt it? whats whould i expect the sound of my standard alarm to be? the horn or the wiii-ooo,wiii-ooo,wiii-ooo,wiii-ooo thing? (t reg ghia gal)

Hey its 11:40 - I'm not going to try that in the dark just for Mr Sanjsanj :23: :16: Watch it mister. you may have not noticed where I live. I suggest you take a look and then, think before you speak! otherwise, i'll force you out!! :38: And how are you gunna connect anything to the same circuit as the glow plugs? dont you have an MK2? and by flatten the battery, i meant that if you were moving, say, each seat out of the car and you've parked far from home (BLIMIN PARKING!!) you've just heated it up 5 times (locking car when taking back seat.) and then you've gotta open it loads of times to put things IN it... And whats this volume alarm? i thought it was an ultrasonic movement detector! And thats sanjsanj not Sanjsanj!!!!!!!!!!! :23: -

Can you please give me the links to those articles? Thanks. the articles in question are to the right of me on the shelf in paper form :16: OH! I thought that you wouldn't have gone through ALL that trouble for me! because it was quite lengthy, i presumed you copy and pasted it! any chance you have a scanner? well the engine hot at the moment...wouldnt be a fair test! will do soon. if you think about it, if it would heat up on any door opening, you could very well run the battery flat!
