  1. As seatkid points out pushing button activates heaters in wing mirrors and washer jets, as well as screen. You could always have an accident with screen!!!!!
  2. I would also change the anti roll bar bushes, they may look ok but they go hard and cause bad knocking, there only a couple of quid and easy to replace.
  3. Sounds to me like your rear bush has gone in your wishbone, use a big shifter and prise the wishbone up n down, another test is get someone to tighten the wheel nuts hard/jerking, and look at wishbone end to see if it's broken away from rubber bush, indicated by the end flopping about which causes the rattling when going over bumps.
  4. Lift the small panels up in the corners on top of dash, that's where the connectors are, with a meter check for voltage on each side and then for continuity through heating elements in glass.
  5. Oops forgot about them! I would check the tail gate loom first, that brake switch is a pain to get out!
  6. Switch just above brake peddle needs looking into, bit of a devil getting out though, twist clockwise to remove, it will come apart to service otherwise a replacement is required, before fitting back pull plunger fully out.
  7. Do you have a sunroof?
  8. With regards to starter motor, i've had the same problem and always thought it was down to sticky bendix, even replaced starter but how wrong was I, just had new clutch fitted and it was pointed out that a switch/relay attatched to ignition switch was on way out, causing starter run on, switch cost
  9. If you find the Ebay number for clips could you pass on please as I need a few cheers.
  10. I have a similar problem and I found that bottom nearside of rad has a small leak with rust patch! Gave her some radseal but still loose about 250mill each month, been like it for years. Must change it one day!
  11. Cheers for that Brian, mot not till march so will stare at the red light till after Christmas, unless I find one before then! Off to staveley next week and there's a good scrapyard there called Deatons where your allowed to check out the motors, also much cheaper than Hampshire.
  12. I saw the clip that someone put on here where the guy sat on one and it went off!! Impressive!!
  13. Cheers Jay, now got vw and ford part numbers now need the balls to take steering wheel off without taking me head with it lol!!
  14. Cheers seatkid it's a job I'm not looking forward to doing, going to have a look at the ring first before buying, you never know it may be fixable!
  15. Anyone know the OE part no for the steering wheel air bag squib ring for the MK1 2.3 ? I've got chance of one that's off a MK3 with an OE no of 6G9T-14A664-BC. Will it fit?
  16. Sounds to me like a problem I had, Check the lead back from starter for poor connections.
  17. You said you checked the plug and no problems, did you pull back the rubber gator and inspect the wires as this is the area that causes problems!
  18. That's em we call them lolly pops up north! Because the ball joint sits inside the rubber sleeve it's hard to detect wear.
  19. Check rear bush on wishbone they have a tendency to part allowing wishbone to thump up and down.
  20. I know what it is as I had the same problem, it's what everybody forgets about, the inner track rod ends!! A sure sign is if you unwind from track rod end the inner arm should not be floppy, it's a spring loaded ball joint on the end and when it wears it rattles under heavy breaking causing the steering wheel to go nuts, as though you have a warped disc! They are only
  21. Sure glad mines petrol/Lpg couldn't be doing with all the problems you dieso people have to put up with lol.
  22. The clunk is either drop link or rear bush on wishbone, it May be front shock which could contribute to tyre wear if on same side. It May be tracking well out on that side or inner track rod end, which we call the lolly pop end up north! People forget about the inner ones, to test them I find that if you disconnect track rod end and arm is well floppy then maybe it's time to change them, did mine last year after putting new rack on, another pointer to them going is excessive vibration on steering wheel when breaking hard as though you have a warped disc.
  23. Sounds like the usual door loom problem again, once them babies start breaking up and shorting out anything can happen.
  24. Don't give up on her, my p reg 2.3 ghiaX has just passed 230.000 miles! Have you taken rear trim off, unplugged demister, connect volt meter, turn ignition on and window, check for 12v. If no voltage there I would suggest trim off on rear pillar rhs to pick up same colour wire and check again, if voltage it's loom, if not then back to relays and fuses.
