  1. Thanks for the reply. I pretty sure that everything is lined up correctly. Normal driving they work perfectly but if you get a strong cross wind then the wiper is "pushed" over too far. I have noticed that the driver's side wiper movement always lags slightly behind the passenger side, always has from new. I'm wondering if while the wiper is in this position it just gets pushed over a bit. It's either play in the linkage or this rubber block somehow restricts movement of the linkage. Looking at what pictures I can find the rubber black is fitted on the bottom of the linkage in a slot in the mechanism.
  2. I have recently changed the wiper motor on my Galaxy and now the drivers side wiper runs off the edge of the windscreen but only when the wind catches it. Normally everything is fine. After changing the motor I noticed a rubber block had fallen off the wiper mechanism. Does this in any way prevent the wiper from travelling too far? My only other thought is worn lever joints on the wiper mechanism itself. The wiper mechanism was overhauled whilst the motor was changed.
  3. It does sound like something pressurising.
  4. Correction, not wiper motor. Mine has made the same noise since new back in 2005, don't know what it is.
  5. Wiper motor. Mine does it, sort of prepares itself.
  6. The refund was from the main on-line store. Got it eventually. I found the local depot very helpful.
  7. Took the whole mechanism out, listened to your advice about losing bits in the black hole! Only took an hour. I can't believe how Ford/VW charge nearly
  8. Wiper motor done. I've got to take it apart again to put the dust cover on the motor drive spindle. One didn't come with the replacement and I forgot to put mine on. Aghhhhhhhhhhh.
  9. Can the wiper motor on a MK2 Galaxy be removed with the mechanism still in place? Pretty sure my motor has failed as it's been a bit touch and go for a few months. Probably worn out moving the seized linkage that I had............................ Thanks.
  10. Change the ATF (Auto Transmission Fluid). It wears out over time and can cause the symptoms you are having. This is the best and cheapest thing to do first but needs to be done with the transmission temperature at the correct temperature so may be best done by a garage you know and trust.
  11. The coil light doubles up as an engine management light on the TDI. You really need to get the codes read to get an idea what is going on.
  12. Check the wiring from the door pillar to the door. Please search as this has been raised lots of times.
  13. If you don't want to screw the rest of your transmission I would fit a DMF again.
  14. Trust me, check the wiring first. Do a search on the forum and all will be revealed. The wiring is all interlinked between all the doors. The switch to motor wiring may be in the door but the power supply comes from the car.
  15. Probably broken wire(s) in the rubber boot between the car and door. Common problem.
  16. Brake failure.........4 kids..............I would spend the
  17. It's usually where that round patch is, pictures 5, 6 & 7.
  18. The drain outlet for the a/c is cut almost level with the bulk head and water has been known to run back up the outside of the pipe. I put a short piece of hose on mine to prevent this. Yes I am another lucky one with working a/c because I leave it working all year round.
  19. I can't help with Ferodo but I know Mintex are having major issues with Chinese clones.
  20. I hope you have a working aux heater to start with..........................
  21. If it's a petrol the cruise control is done by a vacuum system not electronic. It is normally split vacuum hoses that causes the system to fail.
  22. Euro Cars Parts must be the worst for giving refunds. I've waited 10 days so far and no funds. I keep getting told that a refund has been sorted, each time a different day, and have to wait another 5 days for the money. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
  23. I assume it's a MK3. Try in that forum.
  24. Usual question. Have you changed the battery in your key fob and lost the PATS chip?
