Just had a bit of a do with the Ford Dealer about the service on my PowerShift gearbox. I wanted to know why it was not picked up when booked in and also when the vehicle was put through the workshop. This looked like an error with their procedures until it was discovered that my particular PowerShift gearbox does not need the ATF and filter replacement, according to ETIS. Does anyone know if there are two types of this gearbox out there or am I being blinded with science? Thanks.

My mechanic told me the injector loom is best sourced from VW. If you try Ford you have to buy the whole engine bay loom.

I've used FORScan, downloadable, and one of these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161549487423 Look at my "New Phone" post.

Car went in for a service yesterday. I told them about one or two niggles I had and they said the car indicated that it needed a software upgrade, I think to the PCM. I don't know what it has done but the cars certainly drives better. Does anyone know what these updates do? Cars are getting more like computers with wheels these days.

Headlight Levelling System
chromedome replied to brogon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The level is done by an electric motor operating a mechanism to adjust the level. The motors are known to fail and also the mechanism to become detached. I'm sure this is listed on the forum. For both to fail is unusual, are you sure they were working before? From memory, when you switch the headlights on for the first time the motors set to the default level and then you can adjust them accordingly. -

Ford Galaxy 1.9 Tdi Mk11 115 Will Not Start
chromedome replied to brogon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Did you get your car back. I find it hard to believe that the cam belt was slack. Most garages fit a cam belt kit which includes pulleys and a tensioner. Hope there is no damage done, if so it's down to them. -
Happy New Year by the way.

One of these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161549487423 modified ELM 327 and downloaded a copy of FORScan. There is a switch on the adapter to switch between H and M bus or something like that. Just follow what FORScan says. It lists all the different modules but I didn't go that deep into it. I think you get a set of dust caps as well. :glare:

I've cleared the fault code.

My son has recently got a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone and when he gets in the car after a few moments the whole dash display goes blank. After a few moments it comes back on. It only seems to do it when he's in the car with his phone. My first thought was make him walk. :glare: I have checked the FTC codes and I now have F00617 showing. Does anyone know what this code means? I think it has something to do with the ECU not understanding an instruction. The phone maybe? Also does anyone know if I can clear the code or is it Ford only. Thanks. In the wrong forum, sorry. Admin please can you move it to the MK3 forum, thanks.

Aux Heater Servicing.
chromedome replied to TeamGreen's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
This sounds a very odd fix but bear with me. If you have climate control there is a small fan intake on the bottom left of the unit. If this gets clogged up the little sensor inside stops controlling the aux heater, aha I hear you say. try brushing and sucking any crud out of it using a hoover, do not suck for fear of legionnaires decease....................I'm serious after hearing about a Ford Bulletin on the matter. How on earth the original poster tracked this one down I don't know but it can work. Give it a try. Of course clear any fault codes first. -
Rear Passenger Door Windows To Not Lower Fully.
chromedome replied to mikeyg's topic in MKIII Technical section
What vehicle is it? Some rear windows don't go all the way down due to the shape of the door, normally because of the rear wheel arch. -
Car has been in the garage due a low battery warning on the dashboard. It turned out to be a burnt out battery terminal which has been replaced. Thought they would have learnt from the MK2!

Thanks gregers. Slightly different on mine. Hold in the OK button, press and release the power button. Scroll through the info, half of which doesn't mean a thing to me. :5:
