Cheeky............... -
The coolant warning is probably the connection to the sensor at the bottom front of the expansion tank. The connector can make a bad contact. It's awkward to get to but try and give it a wiggle and this should stop the warning.

Yeah. Had her nine years and decided to trade in for a 2012 Galaxy Titanium X 2.2 200 TDCI Auto. Now need to get a pilots license. :5: Just hope the new one is reliable as my old one. Never let me down but as of late niggly things kept happening, so........................ -

I am getting a new Galaxy and I have the following items if anyone wants them, no charge but you will need to pick them up. 1.Reconditioned wiper mechanism, three point fixing type. 2. Wiper motor, work ok but a couple of cover clips missing. 3. A pair of quality boxed unused drop links. 4. Complete set of door switches, one or two may have the covers broken. 5. Nearside headlight. 6. Fog light. 7. Aux belt tensioner. The items will be available from Sunday 23rd Nov. A "gentleman's agreement" secures. Please don't ask for trivial items like screws, etc.

Time for a change really. This year I must admit that I've had a few problems but on the whole the Galaxy has been and still is a good car. I have a reconditioned wiper mechanism if anyone in Peterborough are wants to come and get it. Gregers is being cheeky and saying I've bought a scooter because the new one is auto. B)

Help With Weird Electrical Problem Needed
chromedome replied to ric220's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Check the brake light bulbs. These are double element bulbs and sometimes an element breaks and bridges across to the other circuit. So when you put your brakes on the lights come on and if you put your lights on this will put the brake lights on. I would suspect the brake filament is bridging onto the light circuit and the inhibitor switch now thinks you haven't applied the brakes and prevents you moving the gear shift. -
Central Locking

Check the wiring between the car and the doors. Order advised by other members through experience. Drivers Door Boot (right hand side gaiter) Front Passenger Door Rear Passenger Doors You are looking for broken or short circuit wiring. If wires are broken insert an extra piece rather than joining the two ends together or it will break again. It's best to solder the connections. -

Squealing Noise-Alternator?
chromedome replied to Tim_021113's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hopefully a drop of oli may cure it. Just a thought, is the under tray fitted. If not the power steering pump is one of the first victims of rain which can cause momentary steering failure. -
I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to help if you cross their palm with silver...................................

I'm not surprised. Do a search on the forum.

Time to check the aux heater is working.

Squealing Noise-Alternator?
chromedome replied to Tim_021113's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I think only diesels with the Dual Mass Flywheel had the clutch type pulley but I stand to be corrected............................ Like chrisb12345 mentioned check the compressor. Turn off the a/c and see if the squealing stops. -
Check he's going to fit a timing belt kit. Includes new pulleys, etc. Still sounds a bit expensive.

Have you got a/c. Possible compressor seized? -
Know idea where the impeller bits go but the pump is not that expensive, around
-
The pump has a plastic impeller and is known to break. A lot of people change the pump during a cam belt change because it is difficult to get to.

Can you get extra load tyres in that size. That is a requirement for a Galaxy.
