My problem is the good one is it mark 1 or 2?

I've had the chance to look at both sides today and passenger side is fine but drivers side carrier appears to bigger (which requires 27mm bolt) so my question is the "good" one which is 18 mm carrier will that be off a mark 1? I've had issues in the past with parts when I've bought mark 2s and it actually need mark 1 parts. Would a mark 1 hub/carrier with 18mm bolt work on my x reg mark 2?

Can anyone help? My mark 2 failed its mot sometime ago due differential braking whoever changed the calliper and carrier has got the wrong one as my pads only cover about a third of the brake disc Does this make sense??? Is it the wrong carrier? Other side Is ok

Now I don't confess to be anyway an expert bit I'm going off experience but are the fuel pipes on the right way round? A couple of years ago my mechanic had put them on wrong way only because the way the were entwined and looked right took a couple of hours then realised the mistake he made. Might have nothing to do with it but just a suggestion

Yeah working before engine change I was thinking ECU also

My speedo currently doesn't work and fuel gauge up and down so will look into this

Mark 2 1.9tdi Speedo is not working and fuel gauge fluctuates does it need a new sensor??

Having issues with my brake lights both bulbs are working but sometimes the brake lights won't go on sometimes they will any ideas please?

Have now bought this engine and work will begin Monday fingers crossed all goes well

Have spoken to the chap again he has reassured me the engine is suitable for mine fingers crossed

Hmmmmm wayyyyyy too technical now lol He's on his lunch break waiting for a call back now ill ask but he seems very confident all will be ok and it does appear to be a very good reputable company

I think I've found a decent priced recon engine for my mark 2 now I'm no sucker but the seems genuine and it's from a VW salvage centre My current knackered engine is AUY 115bhp but the engine avail is AWX 130bhp he believes it won't be a problem and has done many a galaxy engine in his time. The only thing he said to check out would be the position on the crankshaft which being not mechanically minded I need my mechanic to confirm Any thoughts please?
