  14. Will do don't think it will be but I'll look into it anyway I appreciate I'm not the best at describing it but it's a cluck and squeaky noise (like a door hinge opening that needs oiling) :-)
  15. cheers for the info basically best way I can describe is a clunk noise when I pull off in 1st gear also maybe 2nd and when I break to come to a stop. sometimes as I turn the steering wheel also. it does sound like it's coming from nearside however I can feel it through the floor on drivers side I'm gonna look at getting it ordered tomorrow
  16. another update I've put the fuse back in pushed the horn button and all ok up to now been driving for half hour so far and its not reoccurred. fingers crossed it stays that way
  17. update it now makes noise as soon as ignition is on so I pulled fuse 6 to temporarily get rid I'll give what u say a go though Brian thanks
  18. so are you saying I need to change nearside shaft and that should cure the clicking and metal noises?
  19. the rear engine mount was changed a few months ago it was only a salvage one but was in very good condition it's not wheel bearings as no whining I thought initially maybe the cv joint but it does the "clicking" when I pull in a straight line and slowing down as well as cornering after about 3 gear it's not noticeable
  20. forgot to mention no warning lights or anything like that have come up
  21. another one for you guys/girls once again my 2000 Galaxy all of a sudden this morning, the horn went off whilst driving only way to stop it was to switch ignition off and on but it done this a few times. could it be the fuse? I've looked at previous threads but can't find anything related to it apologies if this has been mentioned before any help appreciated
  22. hi all as title suggest I've got a 2000 1.9tdi galaxy currently have problems when I accelerate off from first gear I get a knocking and metal grinding sound. now I've not lost my drive yet but been told likely to be the gear box cv. question is....is this the drive shaft needs replacing? it sounds like noise is from nearside however reading other threads it mentions it would be offside. hope this makes sense and somebody can advise further thanks
