  6. Well to say I'm mortified would be an understatement I've just spent £600 getting my mark 2 1.9 tdi back on the road so it can be a taxi again and on the way to the taxi test centre the bottom end has gone so I now need a new engine. I've literally spent my last penny getting it fit for purpose and this happens. :-( Right....does anybody know where I can get a 1.9 tdi 115 bhp engine from that's in decent condition and cheap as chips it's for an x reg mark 2

  13. Been told it won't be steering rack and also had one if the track rod ends done can't remember which side though

  15. Is that the alternator pulley maybe???
  16. Hi all My X reg mkII galaxy 1.9 tdi has been sat idle for a few weeks but hopefully be back on the road on Friday. I've had a lot of work done drop links ball joints shocky mounts brakes discs and pads .....however when I drive on a road with either bumps pot holes or even an uneven lump in the road my steering shakes quite badly. Now I was told it was ball joints but obviously not so any advice please? Don't think it's wish bones as they were recently done. It has nothing to do with it being sat idle as it was doing it before I took it off the road. Any help appreciated
  17. Mine struggles on a speed bump lol
  18. Growling noise-wheel bearing maybe?
  19. It's always been sluggish to be honest I actually bought a Bosch maf about 6 months ago it actually made it even more sluggish #confused so I took it back and put old one back on
  20. This one I just bought was £100 scrap Bearing was totally f@£&ed It's still crap on any hill but think that's just 90bhp engine Still slightly smokey on start up but very quickly goes (just a puff lol) Now gotta work get the suspension stuff sorted for next weeks taxi mot ...it never ends
  21. Mine sounds similar to yours
  22. I now have a small collection of faulty turbos (2 actually) I plan to keep one and if and when I become a little "flush" might send it off to refurb but is there a market for the other one I have?
  23. Yeah long story short vw £35 but had to be ordered for next day delivery but had to call in to pay in advance (£20 taxi ride as had no wheels) then collect again next day (another £20) they would not take payment over the phone . So fords a shorter journey and had it in stock so took the hit and went for that option
  24. The turbo that was removed was in a word.......fucked!!!! I have kept hold of it infact I now have 2 faulty turbos so gaining a collection. You are correct I since found out the pipe split during removal. Drive 100 miles today 70 on motorway really struggling on hills but I have think that may just be the 90bhp engine it was quite happy at 70mph on level surface in 6th at about 2000 rpm if I try push it more it doesn't really want to know
