You will find that some schools will only allow children to ride their bikes to school only if they have passed the cycling proficiency test. My kids last school did this but i think this one they attend now doesnt. It should be implemented in all schools to make children more aware of the dangers on the roads.Yesterday i passed a lad cycling towards me on my side of the road with no helmet or safety gear on.Accident waiting to happen. Children are the most vulnerable on bikes, unpredictable, harder to see and quicker than some adults. You will find that kids are given bikes..taught how to ride..but not always taught how to ride safely..there is the problem.They are bought all the safety gear...but not taught road awareness. As with most things, adults are responsable for their actions ..children have to be taught how to cycle safely. That website pointed out all the negative stuff..but there are good cyclists out there who do obey the laws of the road..Not many..but there are some. Oh by the way..edited the topic title.
