Umm..is this not just the Aux heater coming into play like it does every winter if temp below 10c? What colour is the smoke?..any smell? Its supposed to make a jet engine noise..im jealous...mine dont work ..

I pulled the last stitch out this morn..(had dissolvable ones)... Nope still waiting for the bods that be to come out.Goint to give it till half 2 then ring.

You know..ive been thinking......tracking is fine on my car as is wheel balance..but it still wanders a bit...there is a slight wobble on the steering wheel when car is straight but not cornering....brake discs are fine as i had them checked....could this be track rod thingies?..yes tyres are at correct pressure..

Should tell you on the container what the spec is.....Must admit i scour the shelves in the local motor shop for the correct oil and always keep a couple of litres in the car now after i had a oil warning light on hurtling it down the M4 and the service station had none in that i needed :lol:

I have turned off all the upstairs sockets via the trip switch. Havent used any high power devices Smoke detectors run on batteries and not mains. cooker i always switch off at the wall.. thanks for all the advice peeps..greatly appreciated..

I have done everything i can to get someone out....and i keep getting told that they cant justify the expence as i still have working sockets downstairs and electricity!!....if i had the money id call out someone private..but i dont and i wouldnt be able to claim the money back.To them..this is not an emergency.This is all since the system changed for emergencies in MOD property....we live in crap housing 30 percent of the quarters round here are condemned, but if they still have people living in them then they do as little as possible untill they are posted to a different camp. Down the road, 4 houses are being demolished because they have sunk!! There is a couple across the road who have had no hot water for 2 weeks now.....they are not classed as an emergency as they have no children and have the means to heat water..a kettle!! I have given the call centre all the info i have...i have begged and i have pleaded...but i keep getting told the same thing over and over again....they cant justify the expence!...ffs.....i am not a happy chapess.. I have left the heating on but turned off the water tank...i have turned off the freezer, fridge and everything else.all that is on at the mo is my pc, the telly, and 2 lights...everything else is unplugged.

Be just my luck if the guy turns up at half 4 has a look then says "sorry love, havent got the right part/bit/too big a job/ will call back tomorrow etcc" :)

Ok..thanks for all the help/advice peeps..i have been on the phone again and they wont budge as the lady i spoke to said that they cant justify the emergency call out fee as it wouldnt be just a case of doing a little bit of work.She said that as long as i have electricity in the house it is not an emergency....Going no where tomoz as the electrician will be here sometime from 8am up to 5pm! :)

Ok..have whacked them plastic plug safety thingamajigs in the sockets so the kids dont stick anything in em...(just in case).. They all in bed moaning as they cant play on their playstation/watch telly!!bugger eh..lmao..

This is a very old house....and looking at the stickers on the trip box,the wireing hasnt been checked in 4 yrs! I have told them all you say....but as they said to me.."..do you still have electricity..."...yes.. "do you stilll have heat"...yes.. do the downstairs sockets work...yes.... so..not an emergency. is only an emergency if you have no heat and it is winter and you have children under the age of 5, If there is no hot water and you have children under the age of 5 If there is a total loss of electricity and you have children under the age of 5. Everything changed when it went to prime contract..before you could get sum1 on the end of a phone who would then send sum1 out..now it is all bloody call centre and strict guidelines as to what is classed as an emergency!!

Kill the upstairs power..so no lights???...gawd.....means camp out in front room then as..aswell as my daughter being scared of the dark..as am i... ;)

trip stays on..even though i think it shouldnt.. ;)

other half has tried that with all the upstairs sockets.....none are working and there is charring on one that had nothing plugged into it. All downstairs ones are fine.

This house is substandard..has subsidence and will be condemned after we move out alongside with most of them in this street....mod property for you!!..which is why they dont do much to them....they only repair if they have to..there are a total of 6 sockets upstairs and 5 downstairs.....(2 of the downstairs ones are in the kitchen. This is a 4 bed house and not enough sockets in it..

spark..bang..poof!!.....all sockets upstairs dont work......and maintenance wont be out till tomorrow..not classed as an emergency..i cant turn the sockets off at the sockets as they dont have on/off switches on them..and seems daft but we are not allowed to touch anything other than the trip switches in the box.,,the trip switch to the upstairs sockets i have turned off.....i cant do anymore than that.

Ok,...all the sockets in my youngest daughters room have just blown..also the ones in my sons room..i now have 2 bedrooms with no sockets working...each time one has gone..it has tripped the whole house.....we always have lights blowing upstairs...now, im not allowed to touch the electrics..but i would like an idea of what has happened..and how dangerous it is before i get on the phone and bawl hell out of the duty peeps i have to ring..

If you jack a car up and try and spin/rock or whatever the wheel..there will be a little movement...(if the car is in gear.).if in neutral it will spin like a top

well..im on about as if you were trying to spin the wheel..

If i remember correctly..there should be no more than about 1 to 1 and a half inch play in the wheel...dont quote me on it though..as i know that i covered this in my course, but i just cant remember the exact figures.not much force is needed to rock the wheel...if you jack the car up...should be able to move the wheel that way...(watch the sills though!!) Or am i thinking of summit else????
