  1. I found the blanking plate ok, but no wires. I took the glovebox out and the surrounding panels and couldn't find any wires at all for the light. Does anyone know where about the wires come from in the loom?? If not I'll just take a feed from one of the other lights.
  2. hi, thanks for the replies. I connected the heater to a battery whilst off the car and it clicked once and spat out some fuel, this is all it did. It did not continue to click. Both the pumps I have do the same thing??
  3. finally got round to having a look at the broken pump. I have a second hand one from work, I connected it to a bettery to test it but it just clicks and spits out a bit of fuel. Thought it was odd so I tried my original one and its the same. Is this how they work? or should they run constantly, seems strange that 2 should do this? I thought that maybe they get pulses of power from the control unit so I fitted it anyway and bypassed the temp sensor (job and a half!) but still not working. :( If someone can help and confirm whether this is normal pump operation or not, if ok I will change the glowplug next. Thanks, Mike.
  4. I have read loads of posts on here about oil types to use in the tdi but these are mainly about the pd engine. I have the 110 bhp tdi, the book says 10w40 semi synthetic, Thing is I have loads of 15w40 semi synthetic sitting doing nothing, would it be ok to use this instead?
  5. They said they did beiber beige, when they turned up thay looked grey? but when I checked the car they are the same so I'm happy anyway. On the label they say misty. And they ended up costing
  6. kids fianlly kicked in the rear speaker covers  Looked on ebay where they are
  7. I knew I had read something about five beeps! Page 68 of my handbook: rear power sockets - If the supplying voltage falls below 12 volts, the power sockets will turn off automatically. If the ignition is switched off , a chime will sound 5 times.
  8. Thanks for the quick replies. I tried holding the tray in to fold them, one problem I've had is that one of the covers is missing from the lever to tilt the middle seat which has left a mark on the headrest. If the middle seats have to be all the way forward it doesn't leave much legroom. Also, how do you stop the rear seats falling back down?
  9. I've seen pictures of galaxies with the 2 rear seats folded forwards to make more boot space, When I tried to do this to mine they wouldn't go cos of the seats infront of them being in the way! Eventially managed to tip them forward but they then press against the lever for tilting the backrest on the middle row seats :) Anyone know the correct way to do it?? :o
  10. I couldn't find any wires in the footwells on mine  , The blanks are there though, are the plugs meant to be attatched to the blanks??
  11. Decided to get my car on a ramp at work today to look at the aux heater. Looks ok, was going to take off to check the glowplug, had a look at the fuel pump for it and one of the wires going to it has corroded and so has the terminal on the pump, could be why it doesn't work!! So, anyone got a spare pump? once I change the pump is there any easy way to reset the heater? leave it disconnected maybe??
  12. thanks for the info, will check them out.
  13. where are the side skirts from??
  14. I think the ford galaxy si doesn't have swivveling front seats. My 99 zetec tdi does, but the drivers is a nightmare to turn. You have to get out, have the door open, tilt it forward, move the steering wheel - and then its still a tight fit!!!
  15. Anyone know where I can get a set of mudflaps for my galaxy?? Checked ebay but just missed a set and theres no more on at the moment. ;) Don't want to pay fraud dealer prices, Any idea's??
  16. I've noticed on mine that the car has to be well up to running temp before it blows warm through those vents. I think the air loses its heat otherwise by the time it gets there.
  17. Hi, has anyone got vag.com in the north wales area?? I have an ignition key that needs programming to my 1999 galaxy and my aux heater doesn't work so I could do with the faults checking over. It was showing 4 deg C yesterday and the heater didn't come on so I pressume theres a fault. thanks, Mike.

  20. GO batteries are just as good as vauxhall badged ones. They are badged GO with GM also on the label, they are green rather than red though and alot cheaper.
  21. Problem is I don't understand german or french
  22. Thanks for the info. Had a look through, best start saving up. No luck on ebay yet - theres been nothing at all on there over the last few weeks. Unless I'm searching wrong!
  23. I have heard about this so I guess I'm lucky in a way.
