do you know if this can be done to a 2001 115bhp tiptronic auto?? Not sure if the box is made for the extra power

Is there a dipstick (no puns please :( ) to check the auto gearbox oil level??

yes it is an auto, so that must be why.

Just noticed that the tax disk on my car says DC1 instead of PLG, also the cost for 6 months was

had a look today, it is coming out of the tailpipe. It has had a new backbox just before I brought it so I don't know if its faulty??

just picked up my new car (new to me) On accelerating there is a whistling sound, its ok on very light acceleration and heavy, but in between theres a reasonably loud whistle. Is there any common problems, pipes rubbed through etc???

the cup holders on my 2001 alhambra don't work, you press them but they do nothing. managed to get one out and it needs a clean. but the other one has come out and theres nothing in there??? Is the cupholder part a seperate item or is it the whole centre part? Wheres the best place to get parts from, seat, ford vw?? Thanks, Mike.

Just brought a 2001 alhambra 1.9 auto 115bhp. Are these ok for towing a caravn, will the box take the load? will the oil get too hot?? Also was thinking of a tuning box thing to give it a bit more oompfff ( is that how you spell it??) But was unsure to how much power the box can handle?? Any advice appreciated, Mike.

I did a search and found this old thread. I have just fitted a towbar to my 99 zetec tdi. I have had a look for the multiplug for the towbar wiring but can't find anything in the nsr panel. in the osr panel there are plugs but are all connected to things for the tailgate. on the wiring harness there is the usual sticker and it says trailer on, so I checked the feeds but theres nothing for indicators?? Does anyone know if mine has a plug for the lighting on a trailer? or do I have to wire into the existing lights. Thanks, Mike.

Had a guy i to work last week, he had one of those red snap on scanners. "4500 grand" he said, "works on anything" so I gave him my keys and got him to check my booster heater. Found module 18 but wouldn't communicate, so he got his laptop with vagcom, still wouldn't work. they both worked fine with the rest of the car. He said that a fuse must have gone somewhere, So I checked all fuses - all ok. Than took the plug off the booster heater and checked for power, had 3 lives and 1 earth. Any ideas where to go next, apart from a fraud dealer :wacko: .

I've got one from ebay, 8" roof mount screen and in dash dvd player. I don't have a sunroof I took down the roof lining and used very strong adhesive to stick wood the the roof and then replaced the roof lining and screwed the screen to it. Its been there 6 weeks now with no problems. I'll try and get some pics sorted.

Wheres a good place to get voices for tomtom mobile 5? I have the usual darth vader, yoga etc but was looking for more any help appreciated

Had a guy come to work today to check some of our trucks over with his laptop. Got speaking and he said he had vagcom and the lead with him, great!! So talked him into checking the codes on my booster heater but it couldn't communicate with it. It was fine with everything else engine etc? Is there any fuses I should be checking?

Any one need one of these??

finally fitted footwell lights. Took the feed from the front middle light, theres 3 wires: thick brown - earth thin brown - switched earth red - constant live So just took it from the red and thin brown down to the footwells.

any one else? are these all in one dvd tv units on ebay any good?

I 've just sold my twin screen headrest mount dvd on ebay as I was fed up with all the wires and setting up every time we wanted it. So I'm now looking at the roof mount ones that they sell on ebay, are they any good?? the ones I've been looking at arethese and these Anyone got one? I've read about fitting, removing roof lining etc.

Anyone tried tesco insurance or direct line?? they're both underwritten by the same company. My last quote was around

Is it Possible for me to program a transponder key to my 99 galaxy tdi using Vag com? I don't have a security code for the car, don't know if its needed or not?? Has any one got vag com in the north wales area who fancies having a go? I also need the booster heater reset - could be some money in it for someone!! :D Thanks, Mike.

I will probably just wire it in parallel to the middle interior light by the mirror, depending on the load it should be ok.

can't I leave it disconnected to reset itself??
