  1. Does this help ? http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/xenonalignment.html
  2. When you have your power steering on full lock it is likely to overload the pump which will require more power than the drivebelt can provide. As the belt goes around the pully wheel on the pump the belt will be dragged over it causing a screeching sound. Or possibly the belt will be dragged over the main drive pulley again causing a screeching sound. Did you have any problems before the belt was changed ?
  3. It could be a tensioner pulley wheel or anything else attached to the drivebelt. Can you visually see anything wobbling or jumping about. I would double check the belt though and make sure it isn't sticking.
  4. Dealers going to rip you off for at least
  5. Ignore the ABS light......it has nothing to do with your engine. No fuel is going to your engine..... As mentioned by Westie.....run a temporary +ve feed to the fuel cut-off solenoid and see if your engine will now start.
  6. Or alternatively you could move the bikes to the front of the car and use the power socket there. Seems lot less work to me
  7. Stram Sear Watt
  8. Theres a MK1 users manual knocking about which will give you a lot of general info. However I haven't seen a MK2 one yet. You sometimes see these for sale on ebay. Also on ebay are dozens of copies of the Ford TIS ( illegal copy of fords technical manual ). Which I think most regular forum users seem to have aquired.
  9. It does sound like the hot/cold flap may be sticking. Unfortunately this is the hardest to get to, being on top of the unit. If you have vagcom ( or similar ) you should be able to see the actual fault code which may confirm this. However below is link containing a nice pic ( posted by some nutter  ). http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=15148 You can see the flap motors on the top and right of the heater assembly.
  10. The front fag lighter has a much bigger fuse than the rear ones.
  11. Is the rear resistor pack the same as the front one ? I know the hedgehogs are identical in the climate control versions !
  12. Its worth more in bits .....break it down.
  13. Have you cleared the fault code first........if not this may still be the original fault showing. Ooops someone beat me to it.
  14. Why the Sharan first ? I was going to anyway but ........ Because they are all basically VW Sharans...with a few little mods  www.vagcat.com is a useful site with an online catalogue.
  15. Go to VW part number 7M0959263G
  16. Hi Carl, Good luck its an ambitious project. Suggest you start with the Sharan first.
  17. Nope...even at 149 .....still looks rough :16:
  18. Is the PATS chip still in the key ?
  19. Ordinary cheapo multimeter will be fine, you should see a differing DC voltage eg 12v, 8v, 6v 4v etc ( approximate ).
  20. Yep, You should see different voltages depending on the fan speed. Lower speed....lower voltage.
  21. Sad but True.... http://www.freecarshow.com/beerclocks/finalscan/REHMAN.gif It does actually exist... :)
  22. It sounds as thought the PATS chip has fell out of the keys when the batteries were changed. Try here.. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=17297
  23. Ah ! Just read your previous posts....you have a diesel. Unlucky.
  24. Has it ever flashed when locked ? .....if not....don't worry about it. If it has suddenly stopped flashing when locked then there is a problem with your alarm. You don't have a puddle in the compartment under your passenger seat do you ?
  25. Are you sure its not just burnt out/ loose connections.
