  1. Cheeky sod !
  2. Only comments I have seen is that a lot of the ebay stuff is of "dubious" origin and that it can be a pig to apply correctly. Nationwideautos will do this for
  3. Almost certainly loss of servo assistance on your brakes. Check that the vacuum pipe to the servo unit is not split ( or disconnected ). Listen for any hissing near the servo unit....it can leak as well. Not likely to be linked to the power loss, unless it happened at exactly the same time.
  4. Ah well ! Another xmas with the wife I suppose
  5. No snow up on the north lincs ridge ......bloody freezing though
  6. Nick the identical one out of your rear heater  Worry about the rear seat passengers later .
  7. Not yet......wait till she's sent me her phone number !
  8. What model do you have Tdi, petrol etc. Read the faq below http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=7886 PDF manual below http://www.vrstamps.com/stuff/Galaxy/Ford%...k1%20Manual.pdf
  9. Surely there would be a bigger difference in the rolling radius of brand new tyres and nearly bald ( just legal say ! ).
  10. Yep, same with my wife she loves it as well......more room for her fat backside  Mine the same as yours but has the crappy 90ps engine....and its slightly older.... :)
  11. Marinabrid, I'm amazed that old banger your driving round in is still going. :)
  12. If you accelerate quickly the gearbox will switch into sports mode. If you press the pedal down gradually ( sensibly, old man, non-boy racer ) the gearbox will switch into economy mode. Flooring the pedal will result in kickdown ( fastest gear possible ) and will only change up to avoid engine damage. Basically it is all controlled from the throttle pedal.
  13. Yeh, sorry I modified the post while you were still reading it. Try clearing the fault code and see if it returns.
  14. It may just be historic and require clearing. Could be remote key problem rather than possible immobiliser issue.
  15. No the stereo is definitely not coded to the car.
  16. Its just cold and your battery is less than perfect. My 1998 R reg starts instantly most of the time when the battery if fully charged. if I have been running locally with the lights, heated screens, seats, fan etc all full on it can take a few seconds to start the next day. The glowplug light only ever comes on for a second at the most.
  17. This is what the VW mirror looks like.
  18. Belated birthday wishes to Ivor E Tower Gone... ;) ....but not forgotten. He's not dead yet is he ?
  19. Yeh, I've seen plenty of these drivers on the road...should be shot ! Pretty sure there are many variants of themirrors out there....folding, with repeaters etc. I am sure that the Gals, Shazza's and Bammers are different in most cases. Not sure about the difference between Mk1 gals and Mk2's but I think there are different. Thought there were quite common on ebay though.
  20. Oh Yeah, I forgot.. ;) ....there is an addendum to the manual for post 1997 vehicles http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=14257 Some of the fuses and relays may be different.
  21. IDHO* Thanks Kev * I Dont Have One that should have been I Didn't Have One ;)
