  1. More efficient to have one big one rather than two small ones in parallel. Also the batteries will not last very long if you have two running side by side. The diesels perform best with at least 80A and cold cranking of 720Ah, higher spec ones ( or older vehicles ) might be better with 100Ah and 800A cranking. Petrol versions are fine with 60Ah and 640 cranking ( probably get away with a couple of AA's ) Please note ........DADH
  2. [quote name='gooner52' date='Dec 22 2006, 13:41:42' post='93010' what snake is that kev  It was a Grass Snake hunting toads and slugs in my garden.
  3. This seemed more my style....... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=190063239883
  4. What like this.....poked its little head out at me one morning in my last garden Approx 3 foot long
  5. I think you will get more than a 25 pound fine for killing someone, probably a pedestrian. Which is the most likely outcome while driving with your vision obscured. Its a bit like the motor bikers you see with the tinted visors driving in the dark, ( fortunately they usually kill themselves ).
  6. Look forward to seeing the results...it sounds a very good idea
  7. I see a lot of people mentioning that points on their licence is affecting their insurance. Mine is currently with Churchill ( who still think I live on the Isle of Wight rather than Nottinghamshire , better tell them some time )....anyway to get back to the point. I managed to accumulate some points on my licence and thought I had better tell them. The nice chap on the phone said as it was only 3 points for speeding it didn't make any difference to the premiums as almost everyone and his dog ( I did explain that my wife doesn't drive ) has been done, with the billion per cent increase in speed cameras. They only seemed interested in dangerous driving, drunken driving ( which I dont do...well not at the same time ) etc, not minor speeding offences. Personnaly I think if you haven't been done by a speed camera you must be one of these old guys that can't see out of the windsceen and crawls along at 20mph everywhere causing a nuisance to other drivers....ok my pet hate....just thought I would get this in. p.s.
  8. Guys can anyone help this chap with his problem..... Sadly I do not have a clue on this......but I am sure someone out there does.
  9. Low torque but high BRp !
  10. Maz, I think its time to admit defeat and go with Andeeh's option. Let the guy have a look at it.
  11. Let them try ! Santa is prepared
  12. Geeze..Gooner.........thats a bit harsh ! Just for a bit of dodgy parking ! What would you sentence people to for speeding ?
  13. Nothing the matter with women drivers.........I bet you couldn't park in this space

  17. I would offer directions.....but Do you think for one minute that I know which planet I'm on , never mind which post Moderated ? Whats that mean then ?
  18. The red figures above refer to the TDI engines as fitted to the Sharan, Alhambra and Galaxy from 2000 - 2006, and, as you say, are correct, if a little prophetic - the TDI 130 and TDI 150 were not yet available in 2001. Finally a bit of sense has been posted. Yes I know the figuresare correct, thank you for agreeing with me. Also contrary to popular theories I am not a prophet, or seer or oracle. One assumes that the engines were built and tested before the vehicles were released into the wild. If the 130 and 150 Tdi were not available until 2002 when do you think the vehicles were actually built ( the weekend before ! ). Most likely this would have been some time before they went on sale and 2001 would seem correct.
  19. Geeze..people talk about me drifting off topic Started as a serious ( ish ) comment about the imminent global warming issue. Now progressed to the planned murder of MO4 by some knife weilding maniac !
  20. I think that as no one has come up with any other figures aother than wolfie ( baby ) and myself. That it is clear I am correct and that the different engines 115,130 and 150BhP have different torques at 1900rpm. All other people have done is just quote some printed figures with no reasoning behind them. Show me some evidence that these figures are correct, a logical arguemnt to support them ! I thought not ! I thought the comments about the Audi A4 were amusing too...pity it wasn't me that posted them read the thread ! Hence my comment that they were actually taken at 2400rpm. English language is not your strong point is it ?
  21. Please, before you set off...not while you are driving Unless its to warm me of a traffic jam on the M1 ..then by all means chance it.. I have my laptop blue tack'd to the dash and a foot operated mouse at the ready.
  22. You saw my pic then !
  23. I see we have to resort to personal abuse ( granted most of it is justified ). The last bit of useful info on this subject was from wolfie ( baby ! ) Who seemed to agree with me. Enough said on this now I think I won the arguement and hopefully made several members aware of the true figures. Kev
