  1. For a laugh I enterered the Sharan in the show. Won Runner up in the Other Class  . http://www.fxs.co.uk/webpics/Sharan/dsc01149.jpg http://www.fxs.co.uk//webpics/Sharan/VWMania_2005%2520035.jpg
  2. Have been moving domains on my Web page.... so should be back soon.
  3. I`ll give it a try later in the week. Thanks for all the advice. Its just finding time to do anything these days :) Will keep you all posted if I get it sorted
  4. Cheers for the tips guys, still no luck identifying the make. Will do a bit of genral checking and fault finding and then put a bit more gas in it. As far as I can tell water continuesly flows through the evaporator which seems to get hot. I can remember condensation building up on the pipe from the evaporator to the mixer when it would run. Then if all else fails I will get it down to a local centre to check it and wait for the big bill. :(
  5. It had no Airbox or air meter when I obtained the car as it was previously striped with loads of parts missing. The mixer is situated just before the throttle body not after as you might not be able to see. I know the single type is not the most efficient type of system, but I just want a basic system to potter around town in, as the VR6 has pleanty of torque even if running with a 15%+ loss on Gas. Shes a old girl and the cost of a multipoint system just isnt justified on her. So Im just trying to get the old one running again It has just had a new set of Leads and plugs full service and coil pack is working fine. No fault codes recorded in the ECU as read by a 5052 and the standard system is all working fine with no problems. When it still had some gas in it it would either cut out as the gas switched over after a short blip of the throttle and you hear the solinoid click or it would switch over fine and then cut out after 1 min running on gas. The main aim was to just clean up a few connectors and do some obvious fault findind and try to get it running, before taking it in to specialist to have it fully tested. Im based in West London and just want to get the thing going again. Any one got any ideas on what make it might be if.
  6. I have a VR6 Sharan that has LPG fitted but not working. I first need to identify the system fitted to the car. http://www.fxs.co.uk/webpics/Gas.jpg This is a pic with the components that I have Identified in the engine bay which is a single point on the front of the throttle body. It has a rear spare wheel tank and a rear bumber fill point. My main objective is to identify the system and then check some basic electrical connections to the solinoids etc. before refilling it with gas and getting it checked at a LPG agent. I recieved no paperwork what so ever with the car so if any one can help and provide me with some info, or even better a user guide/installers guide, that would be of great help. Thanks in advance.
  7. Its a common problem. The Master cylinder can partially seize if the clutch gets to warm. Some times you might find your pedal stays half way down in heavy stop start traffic etc. You can usually reset it by just pulling the pedal back up again. In VW`s if it happens a few times the dealer will usually change the cylinder under warranty.
  8. Nice clocks, wonder if you can get them in MPH
  9. No they are not electric folding, just full electric and heated glass.
  10. Could be a faulty brake light switch. B)
  11. If it stalls as they kick in, it sounds like there is a short somewhere between the wiring from the fan switch on the rad to the main fans. Check your wiring in that area for chaffing. Like stevebm1 said also check the fans them selfs by hard wiring them to check they run.
  12. The mirrors just bolt on , its just wiring up the indicators and cutting off the old mirror electrics connector and wiring it into the new one.
  13. It's a dub thing B) smooth the rear end, de lock it, remove the wiper and jet, remove the number plate recess http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Jonzo/Golfback.jpg Sharanfx also notice you have a k&n fitted! any difference with it fitted? much intake noise? Also the wiper motor wasnt working, so it all adds up. :D I should also be bringing both cars to E38 The Air filter is fine when you are driving on light throtttle and cruising on the motorway. Floor the accelerator though and she roars away just perfectly. It problably doesnt make much difference to the performance, but its the sound:rolleyes: Just need to add a couple of cold air feeds to keep it cooler though.
  14. Yep should be at E38, the Sharan is my daily drive at the moment so it needed a bit of tidying up, the show car is my wifes MK3 Cabriolet just waiting to find a good VR to put in it.
  15. Side repeaters now in the late sharan mirrors.
  16. Been a bit busy lately tiding up the Sharan, so Id thought id let you see what ive done so far..... Fitted 18" Borbet A wheels Flared the front arches to acomodate the wheels Debadged the rear and removed the rear wiper. Removed the side repeters and fitted late mirrors Cleaned and polished the engine bay lowerered the front 20mm Still to do: Fit the rear springs Order a debadged front grill fit a lower front spoiler and grill Overall Im happy with it as this is my daily drive. http://www.fxs.co.uk/webpics/Sharan2.jpg http://www.fxs.co.uk/webpics/Sharan1.jpg http://www.fxs.co.uk/webpics/Sharan3.jpg http://www.fxs.co.uk/webpics/Sharan4.jpg
  17. Sounds like a earth problem with that many faults. As a tempoary fix you can get some earth straps and bolt them directly to the (-ve) terminal and then to the engine/gearbox and one to the chassis at a different points to the originals. This has been a quick get you going fix that I have used in the past and will last untill you can get it into a retailer with no problems. Carefully inspect the main earth from the battery to the gearbox as these have a tendancy to break down. Hope this helps and you can continue with your holiday.
  18. As said...... Its the brake light switch which is begining to fail. Fit a new one, its less than
  19. Get the ATF fluid levels checked to start with.
  20. There are problems with the Dual mass flywheel and the main symptoms are lumpy tickover. When these eventually fail they can catch fire due to them fouling on the bell housing. Unfortunatly the garage could be right :(
  21. Can anyone have a guess of what pressures to put in a set of 225/40 18's? It seems the pressures go up as the tires and wheels get larger :(
  22. The common cause for these washer fluid pipes breaking, is that they freeze in the winter and crack due to you not putting any washer fluid in. So just make sure you kee[ that washer fluid toped up in winter. :(
  23. The old switches have been superseeded with the new Twist to activate type. These are now also on there 4th revison and are an absoloute dog to fit. I have got through many of them in the past. :( You have to fit them right first time or your going to have to fiddle with it to reset it back and try again.
  24. I used a similar one of these to get mine going again, after I had an O-ring fail and all the gas came out. If you have a look around you can get ones with a filler gauge on them as well for about
  25. PARTS FOR SALE
