  1. All gearboxes are made in the same underground factory in Area 52..... :16:
  2. There may still be a lot of oil in the system, it is a big system. Are you losing oil from the sump or could it simply be oil that has been in the system? It would be worth trying a flushig product anyway as you need to get all the oil off of the inside of any rubber pipes or it will rot the rubber. I know people who use Persil clothes washing liquid for that too.....
  3. Some young guy got 20K on the show last night. You have to feel happy for him.
  4. The crank pully is on a tapered seat. Don't use the car until you get it reseated correctly and the bolt fully tight. You will most likely need a new pully.
  5. Only the version with IrD remotes has sensors. Radio transmittered remote locking has no sensor domes. That is the majority of cars, the IrD was only fitted for a couple of years.
  6. The locks just lock and unlock and set/unset the alarm if one is fitted. They are not connected to the Passive Ant-Theft System (PATS) that works on the ignition key only. There is a chip inside the key that when the key is turned in the ignition is read by a loop antenna round the ignition barrel. So in addition to the options above, you can change all the locks to a new matched set, and take the chips from any working keys ignition you have and swap them into any of the new keys.
  7. Aye, seen them before, but that means going up into the loft, The woman who's heating it is is paying so I guess I will be freezing the pipes. Anyway the pipes will take longer to freeze and she is paying by the quarter hour.
  8. It would not let me move anything, or change my name, I got a typo......
  9. Not on my 2M line, but it is much slower on my PDA than it was. Perhaps there are server issues with the new look.
  10. The Ford amp is not good and low powered, better not to use it.
  11. Yes it can, but you need the 4 digit immobilizer code. My car is a SEAT and I got my code from the service department of a SEAT dealer for free. Can the OP not swap the chips from his current keys?
  12. If you only breathed pure oxygen you would be dead too. Pure oxygen is toxic to the human body. Nitrogen is not only colourless, odourless and inert, it also keeps us alive by diluting the oxygen!
  13. 15. Thanks will give it a go now & see what occurs.. Will update as to the results. Cheers Sorry - I just need clarification, are the ones I need to remove, the big pipes either side of the oil cooler? are they the water pipes? Cos I removed them,no water came out, I checked the oil,it was on minimum & when I started the car it sounded very rough,as it was sucking air in from these pipes-there was no oil coming out. These pipes go from the oil cooler to the back of the engine,I think connecting to the inlet manifold. Please confirm that I checked the correct pipes or have I missed something? Cheers I think you may have removed the turbo intercooler pipes by mistake.
  16. ohhhh Grudge baby then!
  17. I presume it is a joke, or she would have told us herself. If she wanted us to know then why say she is going to car maintenance class, even though they are normally night classes!
  18. No, remove the water pipes and the water will come out. When the water has drained the top up the oil and start the engine. If oil comes out then the cooler is goosed.
  19. They are all lauging at me now....
  20. ooooh tremble tremble ................. not :D Do you mind not laughing, it is the only stick I have to beat people with........
  21. I agree, the most lilely culprit is the cooler, that much oil that quickly is unlikely to be a head problem.
  22. I can see everyones warning boxes... No pink ones though. Who is first?
  23. Car/PC power supplies are commercially available, as is software to set everything up. Lots of people have done this, Google "Car PC" or similar.
  24. I could resize them if Glen wants. I think they are too big to be honest.
