Yep, just read the Parkers guide review, they don't get a very good right up, probably more the case of passenger comfort than drivers enjoyment. Just found a 2007 Galaxy mkIII Zetec with 18k miles for -

Hi all, I'm back and looking for a Galaxy for my wife, I have found this one and was wondering what anyone thought of it, the price seems ok, and the spec is Ghia, lowish mileage.............? Not been to look at it yet, but before I do, does it seem reasonably priced at

Coolant Leak
jkspoff replied to Ex-Galaxy person's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi, I was the one who had my Galaxy chipped, I believe this could have been the cause of the overheating problem, however, since having sold my troublesome Galaxy I have found out that a lot of people have had exactly the same type of problems, especially when towing or travelling at speed. I tried absolutely everything, I removed the remap of the ECU, and put it back to standard, I replaced the thermostat, radiator, water pump, checked all hoses, replaced exspansion cap, radiator, the list seems endless, no sniffer picked up on any gases in system, so eventually I had to unfortunately cut my losses and sell it. I just can't do with anything thats unreliable, I have several kids and the last thing I need is a break down, so it had to go, I wonder if anyone who bought it actually got to the route of the problem......anyone on here bought a Galaxy starting with reg Y58........??? -

Hi All Again, Its Been A While
jkspoff replied to jkspoff's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
The carvan has gone now, we tried it as a family for one season, and decided it wasn't for us, a costly exercise to say the least, but we might well have another bash in the future, hence the purchase of a non-towing ST220. It does have the twin stainless steel exhausts and lots of other standard ST extras, including the glorious heated seats, good for an aching back and cold mornings. I tend to find myself tootling around the place knowing that I can go really fast if I want, a strange feeling really, without actually doing it........love it to bits.......but I liked the Gal a lot. -

I do like the 2.2 diesel ST and I've test driven one, but the ST220 is far superior and quicker through the mid ranges and acceleration, I've had mine properly timed to 60mph in 6.7secs, the refinement through the rev range is staggering, and the engine noise from the V6 is soooo sweet ! I would always buy the petrol variant over the diesel, however I do admit that the diesels are catching up, my annual mileage is very low, so the petrol is almost as economical for me anyway. Have you checked out the ST site too ? -
Hi All Again, Its Been A While
jkspoff replied to jkspoff's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Yep, maybe, the gas guzzlers are been hit hard. However I get enough enjoyment out of it to pay the premium, as will most other people who choose to buy these type of cars, so I'm not too sure what the government are hoping to achieve. Its hardly a deciding factor when it comes to spending thousands on a car, and thousands on fuel. So maybe my next car will be my dream machine, a BMW M5 touring ! -
Not been on here for a while, as the Galaxy was traded due to a few major faults, it became too costly and unreliable. Its great to see the sites doing well, and I am thoroughly enjoying my ST220 now. Although there are times when the whole family is out that I miss the cavernous space that the Galaxy had, especially on those family picnics with the swivel front seats. I may well be back in the market for one after I've thrashed around the UK in this motor, as its a tad expensive to run ! But with the low mileage that I do its not too bad, 300 miles to a tank of fuel, not bad for a car that does 0-60 in 6.8 secs, 152mph, 3 litre V6, 223bhp, anyway see you all around the place.

Another tip for the wii scart connection, usually there is 1 scart socket at the back of your TV that is RGB enabled, this provides a lot sharper and clearer picture, as the signal is more superior, unless of course you have Sky TV or DVD plugged into that socket. Enjoy the bowling ! and happy Boxing Day.

Advice On What Is Wrong With My 2 Year Old Galaxy.
jkspoff replied to Nicky's topic in Trainee member help
Are you sure it wasn't the old problem, with the aux heater again ? These can smoke heavily, but Ford will insist that this is normal. The aux heater is only on the diesel models though, but does sit underneath the middle left (nearside) of the Galaxy etc. Alternatively if its recently had an oil change, or oil added, then it could be spilt oil on the engine/sump burning off.
