Let the insurance companies sort it out - if he says that the vehcile was stolen then he must have reported it to the police and obtained a 'crime reference number'. So his insurance company would have been advised by him, if he is telling the truth. Ivor has already given you top-class advise, keep on your insurance company to pursue this without you having to bear any costs.

How To Turn Off Engine Management Light On Mondeo
Saif Rehman replied to bigted's topic in Customising your Car (Mondeo)
Surely, if the engine management light is on then this indicates a fault with the running of the car which requires attention - unless you have had the problem sorted by a diy mechanic or you are trying to sell the car whilst still having the problem. :( I had a similar problem with my Vauxhall Calibra 4X4 turbo and no mater how i tried to trick the ecu the management light came back on within a few minutes driving, i eventually sorted it out with a reconditioned distributor. So, what i am getting at is that the engime management light comes on for a reason i.e it has detected a fault. -
Still Smoking After Glowplug Change On Aux Heater
Saif Rehman replied to katz568's topic in Trainee member help
Could be that the unit needs de-coking. I'm sure i have read somwhere on this forum that this could be the problem. Either that or take it back to the garage who fitted the plug for a check-up. -
Could be anything suspension related or if an engine mount - however, since it's under warranty, i would make a trip to the nearest Ford garage for any remedial work needing attention (especially the handbrake) P.S. Keep all paperwork listing faults, trip to dealers, how long at dealers etc etc, may come in handy later.

Tyres Wrong Way Round?
Saif Rehman replied to grubbergreen's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
What an explanation.........................i wonder how many 'professional' tyre fitters put this into practice, hardly any. -
Speaking as the owner of a MK2 Galaxy, i had to change the OSR light lens due to having a small bump. The lens and the lamp holders are separates, the lens can be removed but is very tricky due to one of the three internal retaining nuts being in an awkard place. Outside, there is a small piece of bodywork which has to prised off and then slid out (carefully as very fragile) revealing another 2 screws. Fitting the lens is the reversal procedure, however, as stated before this was for a MK2 i do not know if the MK1 is similar. P.S. I obtained my lens of eBay for

IMO, very cheap considering this is a well-known problem. Click here but be quick because at this price they won't last long. (And. NO, i'm not the seller.)

Ahh! A local Galaxy member - Have you tried Brammal Ford at Forth Avenue (01592 261199) in my hometown of Kirkcaldy, as you maybe aware, it's not far from where you are (maybe next time you're here doing your Xmas shopping!) Oh by the way if Beyond Help? is talking about the motor factors called 'Dingbro' then unfortunately you'll not get any parts unless you are trade. I have a very helpful local mechanic who can help if required.

I remember going down to Rockingham (Speedway/Racing Circuit) when the 1 series was about to be launched. We were given a task of comparing other cars that were the same type/class as the 1 series i.e Audi A3, VW Golf, Alfa 156, Merc A-Class etc etc. I was pleasantly surprised with the drive and handling of it, this was mainly due to being a rear wheel drive with near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. I chucked that car around the track as though i was racing, at the end the instructor turned around and said that either i was a professional car thief or i had some driving experience - i replied that i was an ex-paramedic who had done the advanced police driving course! Seriously, BMW produce some nice cars (except the X3)

As a an ex BMW employee, i would have one of these any day if money was no object: http://static.blogo.it/autoblog/bmw_m5_touring_uff_00.jpg BMW M5 estate.

Thanks for the info, i was curious as i noticed that this was a left hand drive.

At first glance i thought that was a TR7, so whats the difference between the TR7 and TR8 Kev? Oh by the way, the Galaxy that started this thread has exchanged hands with both parties leaving each other favourable feedback! (buyer=mug, watch, he'll be here soon crying his eyes out saying that he bought a dodgy or imported Gal!)

Over 9000 employees of the government work from home and last year 41 laptops/computers got stolen - God knows what sort of information were on them.
-
Apparently it happened on the 18th of October - over 5 weeks ago! Government not told until 10/11/07 and the police not told until 14/11/07 - bloody numpties, the lot of them!

IIRC, the highway code was ammended, the reason being, e.g. on a motorway, travelling at the speed limit and you realise that there is an obstruction or stationary traffic ahead - it was becomming the 'norm' of people whilst braking to put on the hazzard lights to warn drivers behind of the danger, hence the reason why i think the highway code was changed. With regards to 'rain activated' foglights, i would be happy to have them if they were 'fog activated' - it would stop all those dorks who leave them on dazzling other drivers.

Someone Looking For A Winter Project?
Saif Rehman replied to gregers's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
But have you read the question asked by another member? The car is advertised as a 2000 on a P plate! P-plate, as you mey be aware was from Aug 96 to July 97  P.S. According to DVLA, who have this following information on their database: Date of Liability 01 07 2008 Date of First Registration 15 11 2000 Year of Manufacture 2000 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1998CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour BLUE Vehicle Type Approval null Very confusing - unless it's an import or the owner had/has a personal plate fitted -
I know that the Galaxy's take a while to heat up, so my wife, when she's doing the school-run normally switches on the aux heater after about 3-5 minutes after starting. The air is by far warmer than that from the front.
