There was a "somebody" on Radio 4 this morning saying that the blockades would start again on Wednesday morning. I heard over the week-end that the government has plans for ration vouchers should this happen - fat load of good that will be when there are no supplies.......

Auto "gearstick" Light

If you mean the one at the base of the selector lever, it costs pence and I am sure that instructions on how to change it have been posted several times on this forum. -
Galaxy Power Problem
Ivor_E_Tower replied to dave_m's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Vacuum control pipes - look for a small hole or split. If necessary take the pipes off, one at a time and submerge them in water, giving them a good squeeze (like how you find a puncture in a bike inner tube). Make sure you clean and dry them thoroughly before re-fitting. -
Which Should I Buy (and Other Questions)?
Ivor_E_Tower replied to SteveB's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Wise move; for the price you were being asked to pay, I would have expected a near-immaculate vehicle, not something with a host of faults that may not get corrected before you are asked to drive it away after handing over your hard-earned cash. Good luck for the next one you look at. -
Which Should I Buy (and Other Questions)?
Ivor_E_Tower replied to SteveB's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Load cover was always an extra on Galaxys. Later Alhambras come with it as standard. It's not that easy to fit (but it is simple) but very expensive to buy the bits from a dealer - load cover blind, the catches on the side panels and the fixing screws. Both rear side panels need to come out to fit the catches that hold the blind in place over the load area. I found it easier and cheaper to make my own from some wood and a blanket. Parking sensors - try the "famed" JML oned from Woolworths etc at around -
There was an "industry" bloke on Radio 4 this morning saying that he expected prices to drop a few pence per litre in a couple of weeks, as the "extra" demand by people on holiday subsides. Should I check outside my window for a flying pig?

Mine kicked in last Friday when I took the Gal for its annual service. 8:15 am and only 12 deg C under the car port in August ! So much for global warming.

Can you replicate it with the car stationary, bonnet up and rev the engine under no load?

Chrome Bits For Facelift Model
Ivor_E_Tower replied to iainkirk's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
IRC someone said that the rear numberplate lamp cover is supplied unpainted with the chrome strip, so you'd need to get it painted to fit (mind you, I dare say that the replacement "ordinary" one suffers from the same problem). -

Long Wave On Scala Radio?
Ivor_E_Tower replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Try 720 on medium wave; it's not available in all the UK, but certainly in most of the London area has R4 on 720. -
No PS2 or PS one or X-box or Sega stuff in my house or car either. Kiddies do have Gameboys though (but they were gifts from my parents).

Trim Around Number Plate

How badly marked is it? Try a black indelible marker pen first; could save you a small fortune (where I used to work, we used this method to cover up small blemishes on black anodised aluminium parts). -
Temperature gauge has become fan speed indicator. Could be an earthing fault.

They are to help guide an open window closed, when travelling at speed. I wondered the same thing and asked the question some years ago to someone in car design.

It's all VW, actually (or All Auto-Europa, to be absolutely accurate).
-
Sorry, but Mark 1 bonnets are NOT the same. I had a good look yesterday in a car-park. The Ford ones have curves cut into both front corners to accommodate the curved headlamps wheras the VW and SEAT have straight front edges.

Keep a tub of baby wet wipes in the car at all times, for just this sort of event.

TODAY - Auto Express website has some photos of the 2006 Galaxy (in disguise, covered in black tape etc).

Nope, just a "dragon with a wagon"

"Next-gen" Galaxy will have just 7 seats, not 8. If you look at the "SAV" thread, it shows artists impressions of the vehicle that will slot between Focus C-Max and the next Galaxy. The SAV is supposed to be offered with 7 seats, the rearmost 2 folding into the floor similar to those in the Zafira and Touran. The next Galaxy is supposed to look similar to the SAV with longer rear windows in thicker pilars, and similar tailgate - a bit like how the Grand Scenic compares with the "regular" Scenic in Renault's range (but on a larger scale).
-
Strangely, I had a Rover 820 with the M16 engine before the Scenic before the Galaxy, and when I rang Rover Technical to check something, they told me that the first owner had also had the head gasket changed under warranty at about 20,000 miles within the first 12 months from first registration. Thread drift indeed !

Try not to "floor" the accelerator pedal. Could be a duff (worn) throttle potentiometer ?

Stems from having a blue car - the birds think that it is sea, so OK to poo on. Similar thing with grey cars, apparently.
