YEP WOT A STAR cheers mate thats exactly the same probs as mine, ill let the dealer know that there could possible be a hole without a bung in?? least it puts my (tiny)mind at rest that its doesn't seem to be a major electrical fault.

ok received a phone call this evening from the dealers,apparently they have done numerous checks and CANNOT SEEM TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM,they said there seems to be some sort of vent pipe that disappears into the chassis in the area where the smoke was coming from,and have suggested it may have been excess coolant that had somehow pooled in that area and was burning off????.they have had it since friday afternoon and it didnt do when there drove it back and since, ive had a look at my tis and there does seem to be some sort of pipe sticking up from the booster(vertical),where does it go??? INCIDENTLY when opening the car up for the mechanic to drive it back the smell had all but disappeared (SO WAS IT A BURNING SMELL??)and if not how is it possible for coolant to burn off and have the smoke enter the cabin? any help on this most welcome.

GUESS WHAT following on from the coming back to the fold thread!!!!! got into the car this morning drove down the road,AND SMOKE WAS COMMING INTO THE CABIN from the passenger seat belt area(not exhaust smell but burning smell)3 sreaming kids and a missus and me sh**ing myself dumped the car on the side of the road and phoned dealers there trying to sort something out(i wont hold my breathe)THEY ASKED ME WHAT THEY THOUGHT IT WAS??????the cabin stinks i have no idea what it could be,but IM ABSOLUTLEY FUMING NOW. any ideas good people on what it could be,have now told the supplying dealer i do not want the car back until EVERYTHING IS SORTED. regards as always gregers

thanx peeps apparently its something that only ford can do????? its baffling coz i went through as many posts on tyres as i could find and gave him the results and he said that everything that the tyre fitters could check has been checked and pointed him towards the main dealers. i know its not much info im giving you guys(gals) just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem!!!

yet another update yes been waiting all this time AND IT STILL AINT BLOODY FIXED couple of weeks ago it leaked all the coolent out from where these W*****S bypassed the unit they used spring clips :D :D ,phoned dealer and it went in the next day for repairs and top up, ended up have a BIG SHOUTING MATCH WITH THEM and gave them 7 days to sort it,in the mean time the better half phoned the finance company who told us to immediately to write a letter to them explaining what had been going on which we did(THANX TO THOSE WHO HELPED ME)you know who you are :D and so far theyve been very helpful they contacted them and sent them a copy of my letter,and lo and behold 2 days later the so called experts rang me direct to arrange time of refitting unit back on to the car yesterday the unit was refitted apparently it worked on the bench,but it dont seem to be working on the car(i know about the 10degrees)STILL got the flashing control panel and no temp readouts on the dash and panel. dealer said the ecu probably needs resetting,take it to fords to be booked in,so i did today and explained what has been supposedly been done,HIS REPLY WAS the only thing that can be done is THE GLOW PLUG which i already knew :rolleyes: and he also told me that it is a plug and use unit?????so anyway next week its in to check for codes etc,phoned dealer who now has said OH HELL LOOKS LIKE ITS GOING TO BE A NEW UNIT ARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH this is going to end up costing THEM an absolute bloody fortune,oh well :) AS VIKKI POLLARD SAYS am i boverd :)

hi peeps hope someone can help,a mate has had a 54 reg galaxy tdi for about a year now,it had 15000 on the clock and now has 25000 and in that time it has gone through 2 sets of front tyres uneven wear (major)i think its just coming out of the manufactures warranty,he has been to various tyres places and they apparently said something needs adjusting but its a FORD THING,hes been to fords and they say theres nothing wrong with it,he has phoned them today and they say because of the mileage being low theres nothing they can find wrong with it???hes beginning to pull his hair out over this,hes a steady driver(or so he says). ive gone through the posts on tyres etc but cannot seem to find the answer to this problem. any help greatly received. regards gregers

i think thats the answer then,the insurance company's are probably trying to stop this where you insure fire and theft and can legally drive another car on third party cover,should imagine there only going to keep this benefit for those who are fully comp.
