  1. Hello, I think I read some time ago that Galacy Mk1's originally had electrically folding door mirrors which were later changed to have a heating option instead of electric folding. If so when did this happen? Are there any Galaxy Mk1's which have electrically folding AND heated mirrors? I would be getting a Ghia or Ghia X (hopefully). Thanks very much, Neil.
  2. Hello all, There is a great lack of Mk1 Galaxys near me, so I have never had the chance to see in a Mk1 Ghia/Ghia X to see if the driver can control the rear (or should I say middle) set of windows? I can lower the window behind me on my trusty Daewoo Nexia to see while reversing onto our drive trough gates. As my impending Galaxy will be Much wider than my Nexia I really could do with that option, especially at night or when the window has misted up. I have looked at the doors of other cars for sale on Ebay etc, but I have only noticed 2 switches for windows on the door. Am I going to do without this very handy feature? Thanks, Neil.
  3. Yes it's a dealers. They state "All of our cars come with a full or long MOT and will have a pre delivery inspection carried out by a local garage. In addition we include 3 months mechanical breakdown insurance (warranty). This can be extended to 6 months or 1 year depending on the length of cover required. " As I'm 150 miles away from the dealer I'm not sure how much good a warranty would be to me. I can see I could drive it back if the air con breaks, but it wouldn't be much good if the gear box goes etc (or would it). I doubt the AA would tow me that far! Would the age and milage put you off as it has a fFsh? Neil.
  4. Hi all, I was considering buying a diesel Galaxy but the prices are steeper and I have read they are ony worth buying if you do high milages. I want a cheap 'reliable' well specced Galaxy for as little money as possible. I never do more than 5000 miles a year. I saw this add (below) for a 2.3 Ghia X and was wondering if you would buy it. what do you think? unfortunately it doesn't come with a picture. The car is about 150 miles from me :-/ . 5. Hello all, Is there any difference between the Mk1 and Mk2 2.0 and 2.3 litre engines, or are they exactly the same? Thanks, Neil.
  6. Thanks Gregers :-) . SEAT will do fine for now. Neil.
  7. Hello all, I have read a lot on this Forum about the importance of testing the air conditioning of Galaxy's before buying as it has a habbit of breaking down. Having never used air conditioning before I was wondering how do you test if it is working in cold weather? If the fan is normally blowing cold air and you switch on the A/C, i'm guessing it would still just blow cold air (I'm assuming there's a minimum temperature that the A/C can be set to in the car eg 16C). This wouldn't show if the system is capable of cooling the car down in Hot weather. How do I test for this please. Thanks, Neil.
  8. Why have I got a great big SEAT badge under my name? (my first daft question probably  ) Neil.
  9. Hello all, I have been looking into buying an Alhambra or Galaxy for a while and since finding this great Forum I've been able to learn much more about them, thanks. I will be posting a few questions, which hopefully won't have been answered too many times before or appear too daft. All the best, Neil.
