Drivers Door Switches
big boy stevie replied to sparky1000's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I have this problem on galaxy V6 have you found the cause of the problem? If so let me know : stephen.johnson@tic.ac.uk had problems with mine thick main wire snapped drivers door shut, and my tailgate had broken wires also common problem on these cars wires are made of crap materials, sure ive read new door looms are quite expensive aswell if you just fancied changing them. -
i first checked behind the ashtray lifted it out and found another black panel is it under there looks like i have a screw to remove if thats the case, either that or i dont have a port in my car.

hmmm i looked for diagnostic port today where you said but cant find it, i looked by the fuse box but cant see anything that looks like a 16 pin socket george could you explain power train for me is that increasing bhp, might even get both to be honest i looked a universal code readers on ebay they can be bought fairly cheaply i would like one that works on the diesel when i get one, whilst talking on diesel's there are 3 a 90/115 and a 130 is the 90 very under powered and should i stay away from this one im sure ive read the 130 is the one to have as thay are quite fast, reason i ask is my wife ferrys my kids and the large dog we have around in ours and rarely does long journeys furthest we go is 65 miles from home when we visit the mother in law in clacton but must admit its fully loaded when we do go, so would the 90 cut the mustard or would it be very very slow i see a lot of the diesel's are the 110 model. love the name willie krashitt

hi guys changed spark plugs the other day and put new one's in plugs 2 and 4 have these black boxes on them so i undone torque screws and put the plugs in thought i would turn it over and it wouldnt start checked connections all ok checked plugs against old one's all ok so. i put old plugs back in and tried again no joy still the same by this time its starting to get dark. well i checked the wiring on these black things sorry for being dim but i dont know what thay are called and thay are in this armoured conjuit stuff. and it was very brittle had some breaks in it so i pulled off all the conjuit and found mullered wires underneath soldered them back together wrapped in electrical tape and tried again. bingo started on the button got to get some form of conjuit to over them again though. just thought it was weird mind you them wires are under that cover and it must get very hot under there so i suppose in time this will happen. i was chuffed at resolving the poblem myself might help you guys out there if you have same problem i must have dislodged the wire taking it apart

hi guys long time since ive been on here my gal has been a good girl lately, the other day mrs phones me at work and tells me somethings wrong with the car making a nasty banging noise from rear of car so i told her not to use it as i was off the next day. i got up and put the car on the ramps and inspected everything cant see nothing that was obvious checked all the suspension exhaust was my main thing as i thought that would hit underneath of car and wife said it done it really bad when changing gear. so i looked at how close it was to the floor and had quite a bit of space before it hit the floor, so i went to front of car to look at that i grabbed the plastic cowling and a bolt fell out well half a bolt to be precise. so i pulled off cowling and found this bolt was to the engine mount took off engine mount which was quite easy and i found snapped bolt in engine mount tried to get it out no joy phone call to frauds and for bush, bolt and mount

hi people ive read posts ref fitting of roof rails on here and im still confused about cutting of the rubber strip, which is situated on roof of car i have read all posts on this subject does rubber just prize up from the back of car is it just a push fit, ive heard people have used hacksaws and stanley knives to cut this, so must be away from the car to to do this ,any hints would be apreciated as i plan on getting some soon and im still a bit dubious about undertaking this as i dont want a leaky car and playing with roof is a bit scary im not scared to have a go ive fixed all my problems myself in the 8 months ive had the car broken wires in door boot, high intensity break like broken wire, broken horn button, broken speaker grills, clock bulb, air con button many thanks steve l
