  2. hi guys just getting my gal all nice and spick and span just had a cambelt and water pump done, and now wanting to change oil when i was looking for oil filters on euro car parts and ebay they look rather strange not like oil filters ive seen in the past, my question is does it fit in some sort of canister type thing and is it still under the car or in front of engine near top as you look at it, as ive seen a cylinder type thing there god i hate not having a haynes manual im lost without it, anyone have any pics would help me loads cheers guys im not a complete numpty honest, really should just pull tray off and have a look i suppose, did only want to take it off the once though.

  5. dont think galaxys ever had a red key i had an r reg galaxy bought with 2 keys 1 remote key and one normal, and my 51 plate zetec only has 2 keys one remote one normal, im sure someone will confirm this.
  6. as said take off panel in tailgate to access door lock mec and pop tailgate, then when tailgate is open repair the broken wires you probably have in the rubber boot to top right of the tailgate very common problem done mine twice now on two cars.
  7. out of my league then i cant even opperate our tv let alone anything else like dos , shame your far away i could have invested in a bag of sweets for you nevermind have to live with it :0(
  8. i knew it wouldnt be long before you popped up on this matter, mirez is it hard to put it back on i must say it is a bit flash when you walk away and can do the windows up i love my gadgets, if not im going to have to save up and get an alarm i think and have it wired up to work.
  9. what a shame i so liked that feature on my old bus nevermind at least now i know, not good decapitating the kids then again sometimes i feel that way with my two girls only joking really.
  10. hi guys on my old mk 1 galaxy the key remote would undo the windows and do them up, sadly this is not the case on my mk 2 is it supposed to as if i put key in door and hold to the right it opens windows and also closes windows so global closure does work but just not from key and ideas why it wont. many thanks steve
  11. thought that was a bit strange same name and all that, one thing i will say is the new key i have does not have the bulb looking type thing at the front of the remote, i must have been lucky taking a chance with mine but would hazard a guess its the one minus the led type thing at the front that works the mk 2 galaxys might be able to sell my old key on ebay then.
  12. yes was thinking of painting in situ done it on my toyota mr2 as the bolts normally snap, used a credit card to get tape behind mouldings and came out quite well, on the car it is then if i feel brave i think if not have to chat up my painter see how much he will charge me no rush more important thing like cambelt first.

  23. yes they are called coil packs have you checked the wiring to these as when i serviced mine it ran like a dog with new plugs in it, i checked plugs were ok and was rather confused as to poor running looked at the wiring and noticed perished wires cut them back and replaced with new, i must have caught the wire when removing plugs but started up and was fine, the coil packs are rather expensive i believe £80 each i think was a set on ebay recently brand new didnt see what they sold for as i now own a turbo diesel. abs you could try looking at wheel sensors on hubs common problem on galaxys the sensor has a build up of brake dust and road grime which blocks the signal and makes abs light come on around £30 for a new one, get a bit of fine sandpaper and clean the sensor also checking connections whilst your there, other thing is in the hub there is a ring which has grooves in it which is what the sensor uses to find out what the wheel is doing these break and cause abs light to come on not expensive to buy but have to strip down hub to replace and costly if not a diy mechanic hope these are a help to you. steve
