well surprisingly enough i found the fault!!! and you will never guess what's caused it it was that old favorite the aux heater by the looks of it the wires as they go into the plug have become corroded and are touching together, this was backfeeding the ign circuit so tomorow ill be out with the soldering iron and all will be well again !

Driving down the a14 today when the abs and brake warning lights on rev counter came on (along with an infenal beeping noise !) pulled over to investigate and there seems to be several faults, fuse no 3 was blown replaced with another 5amp fuse blew immediately replaced with 7.5(i didnt have another 5 amp!) and the ignition came on !! ! and engine will not stop once running ! on further investigation i found all of the below 1 climate control not working intermittently when it works the indicators and brake lights also seem to work ok 2 when climate control goes off the indicators and brake lights stop working too 3 the abs light is flashing and on nearly permanently but does flick off occasionally 4 got home connected to vag -com (didnt expect alot but i thought i may as well try !) and vag com will no longer connect ( ign off?) 5 when ign is off and keys removed climate control pannel is on (although you cant change fan settings ect ) basically help!!!! i'm thinking maybe faulty ign switch im now about to go and check alternator is not over charging or something simple like earths ect but i doubt it very much any ideas guys i'm properly flumoxed by this one

:lol: Yes. I thought you weren't worried. Short the plug out then! idont care about the sensor but i dont want that friggin light on all the time ! ill try joining the wires see if that sorts it !

basically i have changed discs and pads but the plug on the new pads was not the same as the car thinking to myself i service car rugually and am not worried about the light i just left it unplugged problem is now the "check pad" light is on ! gggrrrrrr any ideas how to put it out? does the sensor complete a circuit or something? thanks in advance Whitty

as above really guys any one had this? got in the car earlier started it and had "workshop alternator" on the display alternator sounded noisy but did about 2 miles and the noise and the message has gone anyone know more about the pulley on them i can remember reading something about the pulley having a clutch or something in it p.s its a 2002 "52" 115 bhp tdi need the car tomorrow so any help would be greatly appreciated whitty

it' from the top and they are made from a very brittle type of plastic i wouldn't recommend using either of those tools on it if you really don't have to you can buy the correct tool for these types of housing but im not 100% on the size thats all

gonna do an oil change on the galaxy got filter ect from ford, went to do it today and the filter is in a canister on the front of the block but it looks like i will need a special tool to get it undone does anyone know what size they are?

i have just looked under the skuttle and can't find the sensor anywhere i really am @ a loss i can't find the darn thing do i need to take all the skuttle off i took the center part out and couldn't see any sensors only wiring i can see is for the heated washer jets

ok it's 8.5 degree's outside new glow plug fitted vag com show's no faults meetering pump can be heard ticking when vag com is running self test and so can the fan but the heater doesn't fire up ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr any ideas before i start flicking matches on the seat and speaking to the insurance, this sodding galaxy i hate vw!

if i was you id check round the car for leaks into the cabin especially passenger footwell cabins dont usually mist up that bad unless they are damp inside in the first place p.s yes im back long time no speak to you all

the remote key on the galaxy seems to be very temperamental ive changed the battery's and the led on the key alway's flashes but sometimes it seems to have no range what so ever as in i have to stand with the key touching the door glass, any one else had range issues?? i'm wondering if a new key will solve the problem but im reluctant to spend

49mpg ! god id be happy with that my gal get's between 41 and 43 and i never get more than 550 miles from a tank but it's a big bus and 40 odd aint bad as far as im concerned, i will say this though the fuel gauge thing is a annoying mines the same 350 first half and sod all from the second half

Ok guys im thinking about a new car, have considered an st24 or an early st200 any terrible things i should watch for? common problems with them? also what kind of fuel ecconamy are you guy's with the v6's getting? anything above 25 mpg on average will be fine with me but if it drop's into the teens it might be a bit much ! optimax being 105p a litre and all! and of course finally anyone selling one ??
