  1. Hi I had a similar problem on my wife's 2002 focus and thought it was a fault in the wiper motor. When you did the one wipe it stopped when you let go and when you turned them off they stopped where they were. It was a relay that was the problem. I asked at the parts desk and the guy suggested it was the relay and now all fixed for about 12 pounds.
  2. Yes it has a chip. Bigjeeze, i have searched and found posts with people who have the same problem but no fix. I read that the red key should set it into programming mode but i have had no luck with that. Looks like i will have to pay ford to program the chip then.
  3. Is there no one with any ideas.
  4. Any one got any ideas. I keep trying to program it but cant get the car into programming mode and dont want to pay for ford to program it when i should be able to do it myself.
  5. Problem was both dipped beam in headlight bulbs blown. Fitted new bulbs all ok. I was supprised both had gone together and thought it was relay/fuse problem. I thought the same at first but decided to try the bulbs first. I had never known both to go at the same time, but there you go. Glad you got it sorted Bill
  6. Hi Got a spare key off ebay, got it cut and it works the locks/ignition but i cant seem to program the chip. I have a red key and a infra red remote key, both start the car fine. I tried the method in the FAQ and the turn on/off with red key and wait for red light to flash but it does not seem to work, no flashing red light. I was told it should go into a programming mode but i cannot seem to get it to go into it. Anyone got another way that is free or know what i am doing wrong. I have searched and read most posts about key programming but still no luck. It is a 1997 2L petrol galaxy. Cheers Bill
  7. Same thing happened to the wifes focus. Went to go out one night and both headlights failed only side lights or main beam no dipped. Changed the bulbs and was sorted. Never known both bulbs to fail at the same time but it happened. Try new bulbs first.
  8. Just break the speaker grills and use a pair of long nosed pliers to carefully remove the bits that are stuck on, then just super glue on new ones. I got a set off ebay and did that, and they seem fine.
  9. Dont know if this helps but my wife's focus had similar wiper problems. They just stopped when turned off, didn't park and during intermittent would creep up the screen between wipes. Went to ford and asked at the spares department it was a
