  3. I think the gaiter ends are rotated by a quarter turn to withdraw but you will have to pull the wires through to completely remove. I would try undoing one end and pushing back to inspect wires :D :D
  4. Broken wire in rubber gaiter which carries the loom between door and frame ??
  5. there should be a spring hook in with your jack used for this very purpose :D

  12. If it were a gal .... Detach the tailgate weatherstrip. (3 fixing points) Detach the wheelhouse liners. inside rear wheelarch 3 screws top, 2/3 & bottom Remove the bumper nuts I think these are the ones you have removed Detach the bumper cover side trim panels (wheelhouse liner screws already removed) Remove the bumper cover support rail trim panels just below light cluster Remove the bumper cover support rail screw (revealed by removing trim panel). Remove the bumper and bumper cover. Basically the trim panels between bumper and lights reveal more fixing points - bumper and cover should rotate up from below :o :D

  15. Broken wire in rubber boot from tailgate to car ?? high resistance may give the varying reading and not enough current to operate solenoid ??
  16. probably only a few wires - worth trying to splice in new section of wire using crimps
  17. there was a problem on early mkII models where this was a problem and the solution was a new cluster (actually it was 3 ) before they had the corrected one - don't know if it affected ealier models though :angry: :D
  18. click on the 0% or what ever the number is to see the warnings given and by who :angry: :D
