  2. not twisted just realised how it sounded :16:
  3. I would have added that she sorted out the booking in the first place but I was trying to prevent them from blaming her for their cockup :16:
  4. Returned phone call Oh God I thought :16: Them: I've spoken to the service manager Me: And... Them: We will charge the call center for ... Labour of installng new bottle Parts cost of new bottle Labour of replacing with old bottle Any other difference between quoted cost and actual cost of replacing pump Cost of breaking Robs ass Only problem is - we dont have a new water pump so it will be late tomorrow Me: Thank-you..... blood pressure now retuning to normal What do you reckon on the chances on it passing the MOT now then???
  5. I checked with missus - They did summarise the job when the car was dropped off, I phoned them up Me: my wife says you ran through the job briefly when she dropped the car off them: we did, In fact I did it myself Me: Do you think that my wife has the technical know how to realise the difference between water bottle and water pump Them: Well I do Me: But you work in a garage, and she was trying to prevent 3 kids taking your computer apart at the time. Them: Ah service manager has just arrived I will phone you back

Them When did you book this sir Me About 4 weeks ago on job number 33*** with Rob in the central call centre Them Are you sure Me Yes cos it took about half hour for them to work out that the job costs a lot less when you are having the cambelt belt done Them I'm going to have to talk to service manager - hes in a meeting Me Seethe ....... :16:
  7. Oh goody Galaxy has gone in today for Cam belt change water pump change service brake fluid change Got a phone call saying Them: the aux belt was glazed and cracked
  8. have you checked this thread some useful stuff posted by ridway a couple of post further down btw looks like the pump thing was replaced according to daveM
  9. seem to recall that someone with a 2.3 petrol ford found that water had got into the 'pump' thing behind the neaside headlamp - it had rusted up. Was either rebuilt/regreased or replaced cant remember which It would probably help if you put you car detail in your sig or profile
  10. well done - blog was interesting
  11. doesnt illumination of all the indicators mean that its in limp home mode ? there is a autobox specialist that I've heard is ok north of you in letchworth - sorry dont live that way anymore so cant help more
  12. yes you can add a load cover later - get the cover from ebay and the brakets etc are about
  13. in the top picture I recon that the glowplug is 3 (looking to the left of the heater part reminds me of the top of the old style plug) and the flame sensor 3 in the bottom picture I reckon the glowplug is 6 the flame senor 7 and the gauze could be item 10 no idea if repalcing the gauze would help, while you have it apart how about replacing the sensor - where to get one from though ??
  14. Spingen Rich Jimbo73 davewhit jasoncaunt
  15. so if I hide the thread it would be abuse of my privileges (not that I am going to)
  16. cant quite see the 'abuse of admin rights' bit though
  17. see post on other thread - please keep posts to one thread we can always put a link here if it looks useful - thank you
  18. I think the flame sensor is item 2 I wonder if the gauze you plulled out/in has fouled the flame sensor :16:
  19. if it is lighting correctly may be the flame sensor is duff so unit is shutting down to stop diesel pouring out - (it thinks)
  20. ours does the same unless battery is low (happened a couple of times)
  21. guess its wrong then .. certainly on newer models (mk2) its a dual track jobby if the tracks report too much difference then ecu jumps to limp home mode - sounds like you may have an intermittent connection problem ??
  22. Current computer - cube case from evesham over a year old, based on biostar ideq N1 (manual says ideq 250n but doesnt look correct) has started not to boot - cant find a replacement motherboard so I am looking to move the guts to a new motherboard and case. (AMD x2 64 am2 4200 +1Gig ram+ 250G hd dvd burner+ leadtek 7600GS). I've ordered a EV case http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135497 and motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G Socket AM2+ onboard VGA http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142347 ( Would like to get a motherboard with some headroom for further upgrading so this seems a better bet than a straight sckt am2 mboard) I was planning on removing drivers from my xp home - motherboard and graphics card and transferring the hard drive directly - I really dont want to fork out for a new copy of XP but I doubt whether the recovery disc from evesham will provide a clean install. Couple of questions - how successful do you think this strategy will be and how will the radeon hd3200 on board graphics on the new motherboard compare with the nvidia 7600Gs
