No mate ive tried all levels and o/s light moves but the beam just isnt bright enough

Got a problem with the light beam on me galaxy. The bulb beam isnt that great and seems a bit yellow, So i fitted some halfords extreme white bulbs and didnt make any differences. My N/S headlamp looks like the inside reflector has been pushed back!! (No pics as its dark) Is anyone else like that? please post pic of your so I can compare. When I kneel down the light beam doesnt blind me like most cars would. If i kneel right own and look up the beam is very bright. Is this a fault on the MK1's as when fitting bulbs it seems they are located at the top of the headlamp and not dead middle like most cars. My other car has Xenons so I know the gal will never match it but surely new bulbs should help?!?! lol Can headlamps be taken apart and cleaned then resealed?

Revs Taking Time To Drop Back Down
Stevoo replied to bazzoh's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thats a weird one, i would guess its the TPS (throttle postion sensor), best way is to get the cars ecu read for any errors. One other thing could be your cruise control (if you have it that is) which may be affecting the throttle?!?!? -
You will need a new tensioner, about 90.00 from ford. for temp fix dash some tulcum powder over the belt while its spinning and that will shut it up for a few days.

Is My Galaxy A Ghia X?
Stevoo replied to cantona1's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I have a Ghia X, and mine states it on the log book and when i put my reg onto any car insurance site, so try their to confirm it. As mine is a 2.3 petrol mk1 i defo dont have the rear aircon unit only the heater matrix under n/s rear seat. I have same extras as you but also have heated front seats, sunroof, rear parking sensors with LED display. i also have CD changer in the back and the chrome trim round number plate but you may have that as i thought the last two were an ghia x standard addon. -

Stevoo replied to Zork's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
When my replay played up my car I was told if the relay doesnt switch on the fuel pump doesnt prime(that buzzing noise u get) then the engine will crank over but not fire up. So i agree its the pink relay think it was about -

Hey mate yes the u381 gives the air pressure of the MAF but not the volts. the u581 works like the u381 But does cars with canbus ecu and modern diesels. I wish i had got the u581 as i could plug it into my work van lol. -
Ok mate no prob. hope you sort it out.

Misfires On Petrol Engines
Stevoo replied to marcr's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
whenever u get a missfire, i always replace plugs first as they are cheapest, also along with ht leads. Coil packs arent cheap and id rather get a garage to confirm if they are naff before forking out. But as i always say get your ecu read for any faults and go from their. -
what part of south you from, if ur local to london i can read ur ecu for any errors.
-
UPDATE!!!!!!! its all fixed. car drives perfect and feels very nippy. Whats your problem marcr? missfire?
-
Went round my uncles today, he plugged in his autodata diagnostic machine. and found that the MAF sensor was only hitting 3 volts where it should hit 5 volts. we unplugged the MAF and car reved to the limit with no judder or miss fire. Now whats strange is my ecu still says the o2 sensor is at fault. looks like i wasted money replacing it as the MAF is tricking the ecu. So 108.00 later i have a new MAF, just need to fit it and off i go.
-
You mean the whole unit fell out? so u can see a hole in roof with wires?? Im not sure where they go, but one will be you main feed, another earth, and last one is for manual switch.

Yer i unplugged battery for about 30 mins and bridge the power cables together. i also reset the ecu with my obd tool. MAF sensor is working fine, ive unplugged it and car sounds like a v6 and has no power. i did give it a clean few months back. -
