Thanks for the advice about G12+ Is there any reason not to use universal stuff..........my local motor-factors recommended car plan as acceptable by Ford (but I`m not sure myself?)

Hi Read a couple of older threads about the "correct" type of anti-freeze and got all confused as I am trying to get the correct stuff for my 1996 Tdi Galaxy I phoned Frauds and got further p***** off! They tell me that as they "only sell" one type then that must be Ok for all engines. Despite the manual saying that I should use G11 spec (whatever that is?) I can`t find anything with that number on. Local Motor Factors have multi-purpose stuff which their book sugests is the correct one for my car but again no mention of G11? At present whats left in the system after changing the radiator is green and the expansion tank is marked G11....can I add anything to this safely? On a previous thread it worried me that mixing old spec with new would cause blocking...or is that just for G12 stuff? (copied below) HELP!!.....please!

Anyone got TIS with the 1996-2003 Galaxy on it?

Can anyone point me in the direction of the correct sequence to remove the front bumper on a 96 Tdi Mk1 Galaxy? Somebody kindly posted the sequence to fit a new radiator but the first part is to remove the bumper!!! I really need to do this today as we are away tommorow morning.....anyone?

I wouldn`t have another 6006........discs getting stuck, reading errors, etc Mine was only 17 months old too!!

I think its an RF key....try new batteries first...failing that the switches inside get worn out (well at least mine did on the Mondeo?)

I thought it was only the MK1 that used an infra red type key?

Welcome to the madhouse! (not here...just Galaxy ownership!!!) Surprising how many new members have older Gal`s? I guess, like us, they are becoming affordable for Joe Public.....enjoy! Plenty of life left in them still.

I`m not aware of the C/L box being replaced but it wouldn`t surprise me! Can you elaborate a bit? Whats WDS? Does this mean that the unit needs to be turned on even after its been fitted? Can it be done any other way (VAG?)

Does the key need to be programmed PATS wise first? I have just the remote part at the moment and am trying to get that bit working On a mondeo key its possible to have just the central locking part functional without the immobiliser part working. Is a Galaxy the same?

Can anyone confirm if the LCD clock on a MK1 Galaxy should be backlit? Its next to useless at night without one. Has anyone else got one that doesn`t light up?

Has anyone changed the radiator on a MK1 Tdi? Doesn`t have air-con so guessing that there should be a little bit of room?

Hi I now this has been covered a few times, but still need a little help! What "state" does the car need to be in to program an infra red key? Do the doors need to open/unlocked/locked/hanging off????? I have tried the three times in 5 seconds but I can`t get the LED on the door to go solid? Any help?

Hi Can anyone confirm if the doors need to be open/shut and or locked/unlocked when programming? I can`t get a remote to work trying this method. I have confirmed the Infra red is working (can be seen by a camera phone OK) Do you need to do anything else to make it work? If I try the key sequence the remote "blink" 5 times after the sequence....but I can`t get the car LED to trun red. Anyone? Thanks

I have a single DIN version very similar to this (has a seperate DVD changer for the Nav disc) Mine has a standard square Ford connector socket.......uses the same changer as "most" of the other stereos in the Ford range I have one if you want to try it, but I do`nt have a lead as most Galaxy`s have it already in place between the radio and the rear window "box"

Looks french to me? You see so many cars driving around France with extra plastic and loads of body filler in various degree`s of finish......seems to be Ok to drive it around before its finished (or perhaps they love doing it and just don`t want to finish it!)
