Not beeing enough new turbo the n75 valve also went on its way new one fitted + another 75€. Fuel consumption is higher than before,7.5 liter/100klms now 8.4per 100klms. Is this normal or must there be some kind of Ecu adjustment after fitting new turbo and n75 valve?

Well i made the option of putting a brand new Garett turbo + the pipe that lubricates the turbo(broke when desmantling the turbo) + new gaskets ,totals up to 550

Well guys the Turbo is gone,the propeller inside broke, With gaskets gone oil started leaking into turbo causing lack of power and lots of white smoke.A reconditioned(350

White smoke did not see any lose of coolant or oil.

Hi guys just got towed home was going well downhill,reached about 180km, when i started going uphill power was totally gone.carried on for about 7 kms got out of the moterway Swithed of car put it working again did this a few times still the same Now the car has no power(does not go over 60km)and plenty of smoke on acceleration.No warning lights and auto gearbox seems to work properly,due to loss of power it goes down to 2 or 3 on any sort of hill. What do you think went wrong car is now on 150 000 kms.

I deal with all makes of cars and they all have problems.Dont forget that parts have a limited lifespan.From my experience as a owner and dealer this car is on the list of cars with the least problems.

To avoid the noise let AC/DC take you for a ride.

Had same problem one inner cv joint had play vibration only when in acceleration.Noticed you have 18" alloys was the problem before or after getting these fitted (16 to 18" makes lotta diference)

Have the exact same problem a/c specialist told me i have to put a new condensor, although it is a minor leak ( last regass 2 years ago and was still doing a little cold ). Please post the pictures a/c is the most common problem that everybody complains about in this forum and i am shure they will be well apreciated.

Read your car manual in mine a mk2 it states that the pd engine can run on biodiesel. My problem is that there is none for sale here in Portugal.

Another fuel economy reminder i get a 0.7 liters economy if i run the climate control on ECON instead of Auto. Climate control gives you the chosen temp. I think that this economy is due to the ac compressor is switched off when we press the econ button. Well this is 70 liters fuel economy every 10000 klms. Are there any other fuel econ tips that you guys can remind us of.

galaxy.sharan or alhambra are very much the same car in the diesel verson (vw/ford) joint venture produced in Autoeuropa portugal.The alhambra is usually the one that runs cheaper and has a lot of extras especialy in the auto version.

I had the same vibration on 1.9 tdi 115 hp auto, fixing inner cv joint resolved the problem.

I agree with big kev i had a manual changed to an auto and i love to drive the auto (tiptronic).I think most people have some issue with auto because they have never had a chance to realy drive an auto tranny.Just take a look at all the best Mercedes or Bmw they are currently only have auto tranny as a option,and look at North America most cars are auto. So i would realy apreciate someone giving a negative opinion of auto trannys if you really have had the chance to drive a car with one,dont just judge a book by its cover!!!!!

well guys i have an auto but had a manual before both mk2. I prefer the auto because it is much more confortable to drive in any situation but when the trafic jams come along then it is heaven.The auto does consume more diesel about 1liter/100klms.I do agree with a few points also mentioned abouve but still i think that the auto is the best choise.

Old gal was 1.9 tdi (VW engine)Galaxy heavier than smax makes a diference in performance.

As for the motor dont forget it is not a VW TDI and the air con with 7 air vents is nothing new have that in my car since(2002). With my modest opinion and experience in 2

Dont forget mk1 is 5 speed and mk2 has 6 speed gearbox that may give the cars performance some diffirence.
