  1. What, you thought it was a variant of a Galaxy - or were you just misreading the advert?
  2. and I believe that a car "should" fail its MOT if the right loading i.e. reinforced tyres are not fitted!
  3. My CC works sporadically at best but no flashing control panel. When it decides to play ball it is coooling but not 'freezing' and the air is definitely drier. When it throws a strop nothing but normal outside air comes though BUT I have noticed when driving a slight hesitancy from the engine every 5-10 seconds, and at idle this is pronounced as almost a judder through the car and a slight rumble. Anyone got any ideas please before I get the stealers to look at it?! ;)

  5. I am no expert but could it be HT leads/coil breaking down when warm? Good luck any way :47:
  6. I am sure my wife would apprecaite your kind sentiments, but at least she got the birth(s) all over and done with in one hit, and she had loads of drugs!! Me I had to watch all the incisions, blood gore etc.......... I'll get me coat and passport ready  At least the Galaxy is very welcoming for those of us with largeĀ® families - its our second. Our first was a petrol 2.3 which we got a couple of months after the kids were born (5 years ago), now on the 1.9tdi 130 - very pleaesed, generally - once we get the parking sensors, dmf recall sorted later this month. A greeeeat engine.... Cheers Chris
  7. Indeed welcome John, to the rich tapestry of life that is created by being a Galaxy (or whatever derivative we drive  !!!) I am sure we will have ggod use for your mechanical skills, especially MUMOF4 who appears to have had a bit of a rough time recently with her old Gal' Cheers, Chris aka DADOF3 (and triplets at that!!)
  8. Just booked mine in as well, no probs with courtesy car, but will have to wait till 25 May! Parts not in yet but imminent - morale : check before taking Gal in!!!! Originally told 1 day, but as mine is the first car they will have done under this recall, they want to be on the safe side and have it for 2 days - that's confidence inspiring (not)!!!! I'll keep you updated with devs.. Cheers Chris
  9. Hi, I have not received my notice yet, will the clutch be replaced at the sam etime as theDMF? With many thanks, Chris
  10. MM, very good logic thanks! and yes, they only deal with safety aspects, duh, brain dead last night obviously  Have to find out time to get parts in now if of course my 130 is one of those affected! Thanks again, Chris
  11. VOSA Site link here Here is the link to the VOSA site, but still no mention of the recall as far as I can see - mmm phone call to Fraud's coming on I feel!!! ;) Cheers Chris
  12. I am sure that I have read somewhere on this forum that if the voltage drops off on the battery, this is the way of leeting the driver know that it is low (apart from not starting of course ;) ) Have a quick search to confirm, definitely in the last month....... Cheers, Chris
  13. VOSA Site Well that did'n't take too long. Looks like we are in the clear, unless the web site db is not up to date! Cheers Chris
  14. Isn't there a dvla website around that lists all current recalls? I'll trundle off and have a look............ ;) Cheers, Chris
  15. Surely you run the risk of getting air into the system this way, much better for the fluid to 'overflow' out of the resevoir! Cheers, Chris
  16. Hi Simon, and welcome to the exclusive '130' club - lovley engine isn't it? :D I paid
  17. Hi Simon, Have a trawl through e-bay searching on galaxy wipers, usually a pair on there for both MKI and II, about
  18. Strouf, We use to have 2.3 manual that averaged about 400 miles round town (a/c on), and I would have hoped for a bit more from the MKII. So no, 400 km is not very good if you brim it!!! :( Cheers, Chris
  19. Have you got that web-cam working then!!!!? :D Cheers, Chris
  20. Well done everyone, it was like reading a crime thriller, who does what to whom with what??? SUCCESS, special congrats to MO4 :D Cheers, Chris
  21. Checked the sensor unit and all seems connected Ok, PLUS carpet looks in pristine condition and dry so no water ingress. ALTHOUGH rear wash not squirting at present.......duh, fingers crossed the problem is in the boot  Thanks, Chris
  22. Thanks guys - I have the dark glass type sensor and cannot here anything other than the initial 2-3 sec bleep when reverse selected, certainly no clicking  As I cant believe that all the sensors have failed I am erring towards a dodgy sensor unit - if nothing obvious will be in to Fraudsters as it should be under the last dregs of the 3 year Ford warranty! Cheers, Chris
  23. Thanks, I'll get my miners hat and torch out then!!! I'll let you know if I find anything......apart from old crisps etc. Cheers, Chris
  24. Just got my 2003 Tdi (130) and although there is the bleep for 2-3 seconds when reverse is selected, no other bleeps are heard even when 1cm away from wall - BUT I do get the flashing light on the activate/deactivate switch on console indicating a problem. Is the sensor unit in the MKII still under passenger seat? Apart from this, oh and a tempramental DVD system I am really delighted with the car! BTW - These 2 problems would not be connected, could they? Cheers, Chris
