  1. Sorry...i'm no mechanic but i was told i'd need REINFORCED (or Extra Load) tyres or perhaps this excess wearing would happen to any non-reinforced tyres i chose to fit  ? Perhaps it's as simple as that with wrong tyre pressures exacerbating the problem? I've had the Dunlop 2020 Sport Reinforced so far but they've stopped making them....saw on Blackcircles that they have a GT Champiro Reinforced 215/55/R16 97H at only
  2. As a lot of the parts are VW, try GSF (German, Swedish, French) or similar shop, will be
  3. We have a similar, albeit very intermittent problem with ours. Occasionally the red LED mpg figs etc will not display after starting the engine. To resurrect ours, we just turn engine off/on and 999/1000 the MPG etc returns - vagaries of electronics I guess!
  4. Had a similar problem with ours, got my local guy to check it over, found the water temp sensor contacts were dirty. He cleaned them up, and touch wood, things are a lot better!
  5. To enable a more useful response, can you tell us the engine type please!
  6. As a matter of interest do you mind telling us how much you were charged - tempted to get a local man with a van air-con specialist service ours!
  7. Yes take it to Frauds and get it fixed :o Loads of questions though, model, has it ever worked, last time gassed, have you read the FAQ thread on a/c - in fact have you done anything? ;)
  8. A few more details about the engine would not go amiss Andrew... :P
  9. Aghh don't be so hard on her - after all I bet her a/c works!!!! :P Yup..My Jap Crap has working A/C... ahh..it was lubberly jubberly to have it on today..mmmmmm....... In fact...everything workds on her..heats in seconds when cold, cools in seconds, and the unit for the rear works a dream also.. absoluuuute bliss... :D With instant heat, the next thing we'll be hearing is her aux heater always works - don't you just hate gloaters!!!! :D
  10. Aghh don't be so hard on her - after all I bet her a/c works!!!! :)
  11. Without knowing engine/trim/location/garaging etc etc its very hard to compare, but the very least you can do is key in reqs. to Confused/Moneysupermarket - will give you a target price if nothing else!
  12. There was a recall on the DMF some 3 years ago, certainly on 130bhp models, not sure about 115's. Local fraud will no doubt confirm. Best of luck for the cheapest solution!!
  13. Yes good price, I paid
  14. As a follow up to the OP above, I will update you with the saga to date!!! Took wheel with puncture to local Wilco where I was shown 2 punctures in the tyre, including one in the side wall, therefore new tyre required, brilliant :D . I also took the opportunity to get the front two tyres reseated/sealed as both have been losing about 1 psi per day recently. 45 minutes and
  15. Sorted, at last :D :D !! Let out as much cable as I could, then the plastic retaining plug splits into 2 parts, which make threading through the centre of the hub easier, not easy though as you have to push teh spare up at the same time, 4 hands anybody.
  16. Thnask Kev, much appreciated, at least I know what I should be attempting - even if it;s a right bu**er! :D
  17. Hi guys, I've managed to get the spare wheel loweded to the floor almots, but I am stuck now!!! :D How do you get the wheel off that wire contarption. The manualk says squeexe plastic retainer and guide wire through centre of spare, but it ain't happening. The big piece of white plastic that locks wheel to underside of acr would appear to be too big to go through aperture si i don't thinks its that. Any advice please, got hospital appt with missus later on this morning, grrrrr! Very many thanks, Chris
  18. You have successfully submiteed 3 posts - allows greater freedom of site - CONGRATULATIONS!!! :o
  19. According to Avengers signature they've got a 2.3 petrol, so they can disregard looking at the turbo pipes I would have thought!
  20. Blimey I did not realise without the turbo the power was so low! Sorry could not resist - hope you get it fixed soon, and cheaply!
  21. It would be good if you could post the details in due course, and any further reports, thanks!
  22. I've got the 130, sticker is on the driver door pillar. I'm using Bridgestone's Exedra, 215//55/16 97w, pricey but really pleased so far!!
  23. All I can say for certain, is that when DMF was relpaced under a recall some 2 years ago, the clutch was replaced as well, presumably in case the DMF has distorted the clutch in any way (possible?) I am sure someone with a bit more techie background will be along shortly! Good luck,
  24. Once every few months, display gos completely! CURE : turn engine off and on, works 99% of the time. The vagaries of the Galaxy family
