Assuming you still have a MK II, the cam belt and associated pulleys/tensioners needs changing at 60k. During the early summer of 2003 Ford fitted a new kit, which changed the interval from 40k to 60k. This is where the confusion on some cars has arisen. Rest easy and enjoy!!

Air Con Problem Diagnosis
Triple Trouble replied to spongebob_antspants's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Has any one attempted to read any diag codes that may be stored in the car? It could be that they might point to an issue. After nearly 2 years finally got mine sorted yesterday - diagnosis came up with 'failed sensor low pressure' or very similar - part delivered from local Ford agent (some 20 miles away) within the hour of phoning order, and 20 mins later I was the proud owner of a freezing cold 2003 MkII 1.9 TDi. It may be worth you getting an a/c specialist to loook at it. Good luck... -
Hi, like you I bought a 130 Diesel, I'm on 53 plate though. Spent few anxious days as was geeting conflicting info on belt cahnge intervals - as the guys have said above, interval was changed to 60k with upgraded parts going into engines, May/June 2003. Some old cars may have been standing around before being registered, so would advise anyone to check with Ford/VAG with engine number to hand. Good luck and enjoy,

Yep, I'm with greggers - quarter light everytime - easy to program in situ and the power lead can be 'tunneled' under dash and up by door. Good luck,

Cam Belt Change
Triple Trouble replied to gregers's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi, can't remember where I saw it, might even have been on here, BUT if it was manufactured after a certain month (May/June 2003 comes to mind) the schedule for getting cam belts changed went from 40k to 60K. Or even ask your local Ford stealer ;) -
Radio Code

Word of warning though, as in my case, if the radio unit has ever been replaced, the code may not be on the Ford db, and the -
Wrong Radio Security Code?
Triple Trouble replied to Triple Trouble's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Well at long last manged to get the radio unit out of the dash, and there on top of the unit was the code!! According to my local 'tame' motor engineer, the original unit was replaced 4 months after the car was purchased, Ford had no record of the new code as it was the owners responsibilty to refgister the new code, and I only had the original code, hence the failures. Very many thanks to all those kind souls who offered advice etc. - an electronic pint is due to you!!! -
What ever you, or anyone else does, do not use Paddy Hopkirk bars. They are renowned for 'Pan Pipe' whistles at speeds over 40mph as I found out to my cost on my trip to France and bcak recently!!

Hi Adrian, Glad at least you had a great time - I spent almost 2 days stuck in teh hotel waiting for car to be repaired!!! (+

Hi guys, Help please! I have just returned from what should have been a stressfree wonderful holiday with the kids to Eurodisney, instead, I had almost 2 wasted days in the hotel room waiting for the old Gal to be repaired - bolts holding gearbox to engine (I belive it is, all French to me!!) having sheared. The long and the short of it is I am about

Hi adrian, See post in Gen section where I've attempted to answer your question - is this event called a bump? BTW, another tip - don't travel over with to much diesel in tank - was about 1.04 euros/ltr when we were in France in May

Yes, I know its a bit late in the day, but have a good enjoyable drink! I have read with a certain amount of admiration and laughter your exploits over the last year with the galaxy, (now the Vectra) you definitely deserve that drink

Keep the kids happy/occupied and you will hopefully find that everyone will be happy! Might see you over there - arriving Sunday PM , coming back Thurs PM, never been before - any tips!!!!!?

Had the old girl serviced and a/c checked by a local independent garage - gas presssure was fine following replenishment in March, but the a/c sensor readings were all out to what they should have been. Upon checking the slots at the top of the climate control panel, it was found that they were mostly blocked with fluff/dust etc and stopping one of the fans from working. A good clean has cleared all the debris, and I now have a fully functioning automatic climate control that works!! yipee, just in time for trip to EuroDisney, with 7 people :angry2: Hopefully this might help some people, just another design fault from our German cousins?

Exellent Fuel Economy Or What
Triple Trouble replied to galaxytdi115's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Theonly downside to the thoughts above is that the mileage to EDP from Manchester is approximately 1150, and he stated that he did the whole trip on one tank full!! Miles or km that is still unlikely without serious mods to the tank! I stil think its April 1st  -
Exellent Fuel Economy Or What
Triple Trouble replied to galaxytdi115's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Blimey, you must live in the wrong part of the country, for diesel at least ;) Even the likes of BP/Shell are 'only' charging 93.9, and unleaded is now more expensive in some petrol stations! -
Exellent Fuel Economy Or What
Triple Trouble replied to galaxytdi115's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
"dnno how any litres but it cost me 89 quid" Today is not April the first is it by any cahnce? ;),. Now doing a quick bit of maths, assuming a price of 94p/l, I reckon that's almost 95 litres of Shell's finest pouring into a 70 litre tank!! Someone somewhere is being economical with the truth me thinks ;) -

Cambelt Intervals - Low Mileage
Triple Trouble replied to AVSDOYLE's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi, as far as i can recall, for TDI's produced after May/June 2003 (best to check earlier thread on here) the interval is 60,000 or 5 years. -
Trip Computer Display
Triple Trouble replied to mikec's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I have the same problem with my 2005 130tdi. The problem on my Galaxy seems to be a contact behind where the trip zeroing button is. Applying pressure to the button gets the display going (but not permanently). I'll try the local dealer for a solution - but I'm not going to hold my breath. Hi, got exactly the same symptoms on same model, dealers say no code, no problem, duh!! All I would add is that when it disappears and then comes back on it is like stating anew journey as far as the car is concerned with av mpg only being calculated on the time since the display is seen. :P -
Dave, I have 4 chrome rings just behind the rear 2 seats, two each side - two a few inches off the floor, the others approx 2 feet high. Without these you are snookered I would have thought, sorry

Just tried this on our Gal and lo and behold it slowly goes to the floor, although strangely afterwards the pedal was firmer, just like pumping it a few times :D . Now if the seals have gone /are going should there be any loss of fluid, as I would have thought if air was getting in (presumably?) then fluid i would have thought been squeezed out under the pressure? :D
