OK Guys, I checked for the Run-on Pump and what I could hear was coming from behind the coolant expansion chamber, like a small motor / pump running sound. Is this correct? Comes on with ignition and goes off with ignition. Next I did the VAG-COM. No Faults reported. Did the output tests, as the linked article suggests. I did the test with the engine off and it was 16 degrees outside (Ambient). The "Combustion Air Blower" started up when I started the output test. I clicked "Next" and it then checked the "Dosing/metering pump". After clicking Next, it closed down the Test. No results anywhere but no warnings, so I'm not sure how to read that? Measuring blocks gave the following results, again, engine off but ignition on. For reference, I've put the "Correct" values / readings from the article first and my result in brackets after. Section 1. 1. System Voltage 13v (Mine was -) engine was turned off though! 2. Combustion Temp. 330 degrees c (Mine = 20 degrees) 3. Coolant input temp. (Mine = 16 degrees) 4. Coolant Output Temp. (Mine 17 degrees) Section 2. 1. Heater enabled (Mine = ON) 2. Ext Temp Switch (Mine = OFF) 3. NA 4. NA Section 3. 1. Air Blower Status (Mine = OFF) 2. Flame Sensor (Mine = OFF) 3. Fuel Pump Status (Mine = OFF) I don't follow how to decipher my results and I wonder if I should be running the tests with the engine running (Though I always thought you shouldn't run VAG-COM with the engine running???) Thanks a bundle for any good news :-) on the above results

My kiddie booster seat is currently integrated in the Near Side (Left) seat but I would be better served if it were on the driver's side (Right) . . . . . got it the wrong way round in the title! anyone know if the seatbelt and stuff, or the base gubbings can be transposed with a strip-down, like the front seats do?

Here is a pic of the aux. heater on my 2005 130 Tdi, with it's broken exhaust. I compared it to my friend's on his 2005 130 Tdi and they are radically different. Different mounting points, different electrical connection plugs and different hose entry positions. To search for a replacement for mine, how do I know which one I need? Thanks MINE: http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o600/JennyTaylia/Car%20Stuff/IMG_0029_zps4ed35b92.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o600/JennyTaylia/Car%20Stuff/IMG_0028_zps3161a9dd.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o600/JennyTaylia/Car%20Stuff/IMG_0027_zps7d561b35.jpg MY FRIEND's: http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o600/JennyTaylia/Car%20Stuff/IMG_0034_zps0d2ddc94.jpg Thanks

Climate Control Unit Change
Fraz-ktf replied to Coliflower's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi. Whilst no expert with the Galaxy, I did the same with my VW Passat. It's fairly easy. If I recall, there is a bezel around the unit. This needs very carefully prising off to reveal 4 retaining screws. Undo these and pull the unit out. Unplug and Fanny's your aunt. It's a bit like removing a radio head unit and no more daunting. Good luck -
Hi. My mate's Galaxy is on Ebay and it's a good one, if anyone is interested. It's got all it's old MOT's from new and Service History. 2 Owners and only 66800 miles. MOT'd yesterday. He is open to sensible offers around £5750 apparently (Though insider information says he will take anything over £5k for a quick sale B) - though not via Ebay!)) Here's the link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271282770764?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

I stripped it down and sure enough, some of the teeth had sheared off. I've repaired it by cutting the nylon gear wheel in half along it's length, spinning it 180 degrees (So that there are 2 places with half sheared teeth and half good teeth) and then I made a metal disc to sandwich between the nylon gear wheel halves and filed out the teeth into the metal. I now have a fully working winch, with a metal toothed mid-point that will hopefully never be able to shear again. I will make a separate post with photos, in case anyone fancies doing the same.

Hi. I wanted the swivel option for picnics and when parked up or using it as a campervan. The DVD screens would be for the kids whilst driving. You're right about the media console getting in the way but with a little forwards and backwards shifting of the seat, you can get it to just miss it. cheers

Beg to differ now. B) I've just completed the surgery and, although it's a bit of a faff getting the seats to swivel past the console that houses the DVD player, it works a treat! All you have to do is slightly re-route the DVD cables and they're plenty long enough to do so. So it can be done. Just got to fathom why the DVD doesn't work (They didn't before I stripped anything down  ) Any ideas where to start?

Hi. I've had heated seats in my cars for the past few years and I'm lost and cold without them :( Does anyone know if the loom is in all cars, just waiting for the seats, switch gear and heater stuff to be added? I'm thinking of getting another Galaxy that's got heated seats and performing a heatedseatoptomy. My Gal is too good to sell, just for the lack of heated seats! Has anyone removed heated seats and their gubbings before and what is involved? thanks

I'll do another vag-com scan on both vehicles tomorrow and see what shows up. Thanks. -

Sorry, I misunderstood. Mine is the noisy one. Is it mine that is working correctly? -
What's The Jet Engine Noise On My Galaxy?

Joking apart, can they be swapped over? As my friend is going to sell his car. If it's the Silver pipe I found, how much of it would need swapping? And is it a big job? Should vag-com detect if mine is not operating? Thanks -
Hi. Just compared my 2005 Galaxy with my friend's, side by side, as we were comparing notes and swapping stuff around and I realised that when I turn off my engine, there is a noise coming from under the car (Though not from the engine bay I don't think) that runs on for a good while after I've turned off the engine. It sounds like a jet engine winding down. My friend's car (Exactly the same 2005 Tdi) doesn't do this at all. Which car is right? Should there be this run-on sound or does one of us have an issue? Thanks

Hi. Having had VW Passat's for the last 5 of my cars, I'm so addicted to the flip key I want to get one for my 2005 Galaxy. I understand the blade can be cut ok and even transponders swapped from the Ford 2 button fob but is it more complex than this? Has anyone done it before and if so, can you shed some light please? Thanks

Whilst I was looking to buy my first Galaxy Ghia, I found that some cars had swivel seats and some did not. They were all 2002 to 2005 models I was looking at. I'm informed too, that if there are DVD screens in the headrests, there will not be swivelling seats. I would conclude that it was an option when the cars were new. That said, in the next couple of days, I'm going to try to swap the swivel mechanism from a friend's seats to my seats that have the DVD screens. I'll test them and report back. Does anyone know how to remove the back recline knob on the front seats of a MKll Galaxy?

I have exactly the same issue. The water is not coming into the car, it is leaking from a pipe somewhere under the bonnet and then escaped water runs out from the chassis. The car is dry everywhere. Does anyone know the route the pipe takes after it leaves the washer bottle, to get to the joint in the passenger sill please? Thanks
