  1. lol, again the DVD player also an aftermarket jobbie. It's a DIN sized Panasonic in the rear wing compartment (the original owner must have been tight with the options as it doesn't have any) ;) The Panasonic is a little old and also fussy about what it plays so I have to use DVD+R as it won't play DVD-R copies, the make of disc doesn't seem to matter though.
  2. Spot on mate, fuse 31. It was a 3 amp fuse that had blown. I only had a 5 amp to replace it with but I'll buy some more before I rewire the supply to the navi/dvd unit to stop it blowing again. For now at least i've managed to retrieve my daughters The Magic Roundabout DVD so that I can back it up in case it gets scratched in the car.
  3. My sat nav is aftermarket and is wired to the ignition live on the back of the stereo so that it goes off when the key is in the off position, but as the stereo only stays on for one hour when the ignition is ON and my DVD/Sat Nav/monitor are all dead it must be down to the lack of an ignition live which is why I suspect the fuse has gone, but the manual doesn't make it clear which fuse it is and it's impossible to tell without taking them all out.
  4. Hi guys I need to find the fuse for the auxillary 12v supply that supplies the headunit on my Mk2 without having to go through all of the fuses (nightmare task) as the radio goes off after 1 hour and my sat nav, DVD player & screen have all gone off which are also fed from the same supply (time for some rewiring then).
  5. I got my headrest covers from Ford for
  6. Good post, not a 5 minute job though. I do plan to have the warning indicator sorted but am holding out for MM as I'd rather pay him than Ford to do it. Plus I hope to get my own Vag.com kit once I've learned and read a bit more about it when I have the time.
  7. Ahh! Does it come out as it looks like there are some clips around it?
  8. Friday should be good I can travel to Leicester no problem. Maybe when I've seen Vag-com working I can decide if it's worth me buying one as we plan to keep the Galaxy for a few years.
  9. Hi guys. Does anyone know where the warning buzzer is on a '52 plate Galaxy 2.3 as I want to disconnect it. It's doing my head in with beeping at me every 5 minutes with the airbag warning indicator on.
  10. That's really handy to know. Money well saved. :D
  11. Hi Mike. I only queried it as I asked a question regarding the clocks some time ago and it was frowned upon. You need to remove the upper & lower cowlings around the steering wheel and there will be 2 T20 screws facing forwards below the clocks, but are quite hidden unless you fix the steering column in the down position, although you will still need a long reach screwdriver. When the screws are out you can use a flat bladed screwdriver to prize a gap open above the centre of the clocks, this will release the clip above the clocks allowing them to slide forward from the top down. Don't unplug the connectors though unless you are prepared to have to reset the warning indicators on the ECU as clock removal will flag up in the ECU.
  12. I can, but to adhere to any rules, could I ask why you need the clocks out.
  13. I got it out in the end. I broke the damn bit that it attaches to the lock with though :D Looks like the proper way is to remove the barrel lock first in order to give clearance for the soleniod assy to slide out. Still, I should be able to pick the parts up from a scrappy as I doubt that Ford sell lock parts seperately?
  14. Here we go again. My drivers central locking motor packed up a few weeks ago and I've now got round to sorting the problem. I've taken the door panel off thanks to the guide on here and tracked the problem down to an intermittent central locking motor, but I can't work out how to get it out. I've unplugged the 2 electrical connectors in the solenoid and undone the bolts that hold it in place, but I can't see how to unattach it from the barrel lock.
  15. Thanks. I'll let you choose the time as any time is fine with me. I'll PM you my mobile number.
  16. Waddington would be ideal if possible as it's only the other side of Lincoln from where I live (about 15 mins through town). I can make Waddington anytime (almost literally), otherwise Leicester on Thursday/Friday next week.
  17. Lincoln, so I presume our main dealer 'Lincoln Ford'. Or are you offfering as I've got to go to Leicester soon anyway to pick up a new Plasma TV and the Galaxy is the only thing big enough to carry it in.
  18. Usually just one of the ABS wheel sensors in the hub, but the problem is finding out which one.
  19. I fitted mine in place of the boot changer in the o/s rear compartment and moved the changer next to the tool kit, although many on here have fitted the player next to the tool kit or in the recess under one of the front seats.
  20. Hi guys. I've buggered it now by playing around with the wiring for my sat nav and my airbag warning light won't go out. Is it something that I can do myself???
  21. Sounds like a viable solution, cheers guys.
  22. Hi Guys. Sorry to bother you with my problems again. This time I need to know if it's possible to delete a key from memory in my Mk2 as the previous owner claims to have lost the spare key after promising to post it on to me and I really don't like the idea of a spare key floating about out there especially as he has my home address. With my Vectra the dealer is able to delete all of the key fobs for the alarm/central locking and also the immobiliser chip in the keys themselves, so I was wondering if it's the same for the Galaxy. I've read about reprogramming keys, but bear in mind that I only have the 1 key and would also like to stop the other key from starting my car (just covering my *rse). Again, car is a '52 plate 2.3 Ghia.
  23. I'm gonna take the door card off tommorrow and check the motor. I could do with the wiring diagram though as I intend to stick a multimeter on the connections to see if the supplies are ok.
