i'm very satisfied with my '97 2.3 petrol GLX. with last tankstop (mainly highway) i averaged 12 km per liter. For your info in miles and imperial gallons this equals 33.92 mpg.
I replaced my battery with a maintance-free battery because the battery was leaking acid which caused extreme corrosion of the bottom plate (why is there no drain?). I saw the same problem with another galaxy. Is this due to the very high temperatures under the bonnet? Or should a check the voltage regulator of the alternator?
same with my 97 2.3 GLX. As suggested earlier this must be a slipping belt. With low rev the steering unit asks a lot of power, with causes a slipping belt. Can this belt put tighter?
can anyone tell me what makes the very warm spot in the interior of the 2.3 galaxy above the rear wheel on drivers side (europe version) it's maybe fine in winter but not desirable in summer. (sorry for the english, i'm from NL),
