  1. I was thinking about wifes parking the galaxy against pavement edges
  2. have the same problem for a year but it is not worsening, so I leave it. I suspect the bearing of the tensioner or the guiding roller, but it also could be the bearing of the waterpump.
  3. my front tyres wear at the outside of the tyre. my tyres were balanced and lined up for several times. could this be positive chamber of the tyres that cannot be adjusted? Have others same experiences.
  4. also think that it is the pump, when the thermostat fails, it's allmost allways stuck open (long time to warm up, but no overheating)
  5. if differs from circumstances. My experience is that the AC is much more effective when it is very hot outside.
  6. had similar problem, see: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/Forum/index.p...t=0entry14877 also check wire loom/connector behind battery.
  7. as the solenoid is a wired coil, therefor the resistance must be very low, maybe some ohms. Maybe you can find a company that can service the compressor unit / or is it a non-servicable item?.
  8. the clutch is actuated by a solenoid. When airco light on, current will move the solenoid. If you measure 12v and the center well does not turn maybe the solenoid is gone.
  9. has this maybe to do with a integrated fan control system for the aircon condenser .
  10. just a thought: had same problem. turned to be a big fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet. there are two of them, one for every fan.
  11. when there is no difference the MAF could be defective. a ford dealer can measure if the MAF is between it's normal range with their diagnostics software. but rare at 30,000miles.
  12. check your compressor clutch switch on the compressor unit
  13. This was the case for mine car. Carefully check your connections! could be different. When wrongly connected you can blow your car radio!
  14. had same problem. ISO connectors are the same, but Ford wired the ISO connector slightly different than standard. Ford exchanged the permanent power and switched power wire. Had to cut the wires and join them again.
  15. thanks to EU regulation
  16. I don't think so, your brake warning light will come on before it reaches the metal. and metal to metal sounds terrible. was it white smoke (steam) or black (burning)? how does it smell, coolant has a typical methanol smell, burning PVC smells total differently.
  17. it can be excessive wear of the engine resulting in a low oil pressure and a longer time to build up. are you sure of the mileage? (known history) from this point I would do a compression test, also listen carefully when accelerating, do you hear knocking (worn crank bearings)
  18. check if there is water dripping under the car (the engine undertray could also collect the water) Also you must see that the water level in the expension tank has lowered. If that is so problably a water hose is leaking.
  19. steam: overheated engine (light above temp gauge must go on) or leaking water from cooling system on hot surface f.e. exhaust
  20. seems to loose oil pressure when the engine is off. maybe wrong oilfilter or wrong oil specification?
  21. first: check the fuse/see fuseboard layout in your drivers manual
  22. in portugal it never rains?
  23. There are serious disadvantages (petrol engines): - to high combusion chamber temperature - detoning - high NOx emissions - - loss of fuel efficiency
  24. also check the 12V wires to the ignition coil. They are taped, but the isolationof the wires can crack because of the heat, causing inter. shortage.
