  1. I thought the 505.01 oil was only for the PD engine which the MK1 doesn't have. Maybe a different grade oil may help.
  2. Get on hands and knees and look really hard first...........................
  3. I would certainly go else where. Two hours to plug a computer in.......pah. Follow your three steps.
  4. I think the glass is bonded/glued to the glass carrier mechanism and has probably parted. Not sure if can be re-fixed or a new glass required. Others on this forum will probably know more.
  5. Check the wiring between the door pillar and door on all doors. Common place for broken wires.
  6. No broken wires as far as I could tell. Turned the radio up very loud and the speaker and fade facility started working again. Weird.
  7. I'm thinking radiator blockage. I know it's sounds stupid but have you checked that something is not covering the radiator, plastic bag, etc.
  8. Thanks chrispb123456 I will have a look tomorrow. I only knew something was wrong when the radio did not give me the option to fade only balance.
  9. My driver's side rear door speaker has stopped working and I suspect a broken wire in the rubber boot. Can someone tell me the wire colours that connect to the speaker. Thanks.
  10. Most reports I hear is they don't know the difference between a car with single or dual air-con and normally over gas the system causing damage.
  11. There have been bad reports about Kwik Fit on this forum.
  12. It must be Summer again........................................!!!!!
  13. There was a recent post about low oil pressure and the oil retention valve in the oil filter. This is not present in all filters and can cause top end noise at low revs. Can't work out how to post the link, sorry. It was posted 15 May.
  14. There is a coolant level sensor at the bottom of the expansion tank. Sometimes this makes a bad connection. Give the sensor connector a wiggle.
  15. Had another look. The fork shaped linkage actually rocks about on the spindle causing the excessive movement. Not sure if it can be welded.
  16. If anyone is breaking a Galaxy/Sharan please let me know.
  17. It's where the spindle is fixed to the body of the wider mechanism, allowing the spindle to rock in it's mounting.
  18. The forked shaped swivel is moving about on the main wiper mechanism body, This then allows excessive movement in the driver's side wiper. I have a small problem The black plastic ring that goes around the wiper spindle on the plastic fascia panel has dropped into a black hole. Does anyone know what it's called and where I can get one?
  19. Received my replacement mechanism and it's ok. The spindles move freely and there appears to be no play in any of the linkage arms. I will still give it a clean and grease up so fingers crossed. Got it for
  20. I have sourced another mechanism off a 2005 which looks ok. May leave the link rods in situ then while I give it a grease up. When swapped over I'll let you know my findings as to what's causing my wiper to fly away and if it's at all repairable. My linkage had seized in the past and maybe the damage was already done and now it moves freely again has only exaggerated the problem. Am I pleased the linkage is not in amongst the dashboard like a lot of cars! Thanks again.
  21. Another quick question, sorry. Do the link rods just pop off with assistance of a screwdriver?
  22. I am leaning towards the plastic bushes in the link rods. Hopefully someone on here may help.
  23. Just wondering if anyone on the forum has a seized wiper assembly and may be willing to part with the link arms at a mutually agreed price. Thanks for all your help insanitybeard.
  24. Just noticed that you said the rods are available as separate parts. Do you know where to get them from?
  25. I still have the block so not an issue. Just been looking at more images and noticed that the drivers side linkage goes via a swivel joint with two link arms attached. I wonder if this has come lose. Do you know how it's fixed?
