  1. I think Halfords have an air con deal on at the moment.
  2. Vehicle details would help.
  3. No, I thought the pressure switch would have cut it due to low pressure but who knows with the Galaxy! Try and gain access to the rear bits and bobs and see if there is anything obvious.
  4. There is a separate evaporator and associated bits for the rear a/c. They use a common compressor. Mine drips condensation from both the front and rear units depending on humidity. Is it gassed as a dual system?
  5. Faulty rear evaporator at a guess. Someone had this problem a few weeks back but I can't remember the fix off hand. PS. My rear air con even works in auto.
  6. Check your messages.
  7. Only runs on 32bit windows.
  8. If the OP is worried about maybe having the wrong battery perhaps he should change it for his own piece of mind.
  9. No. I'm happy with what my Galaxy gives me. You could sit in a room with no windows or access to the outside world except for this forum and you could tell whether it's Summer (air con posts) or Winter (aux heater posts).
  10. Yes but you use more if you drive above 30mph with the windows open.
  11. Had mine re-gassed today, first time in nine years. The guy was amazed but when I told him I left in on all the time he understood why it lasted so long. It keeps everything lubricated and stops it drying out from lack of use.
  12. It's the same display whether or not you have dual or single air con. If it keeps switching on/off it could be over gassed and the pressure switch is kicking in. Like you say the electrical connection at the fuse box under the bonnet is a known problem due normally to a badly crimped connector. I would sort this problem first because it has been known to cause all sorts of weird problems.
  13. Could be a faulty pressure switch. It shuts the system down if the gas pressure is too high or too low. Was it pressured as having dual air con? Looking at the age of your car it would be unlikely to have dual air con, look for vents in the roof above the middle and rear seats. If the wrong amount of gas was put in the system would probably shut down.
  14. The Exide New Evolution Range 017e is a calcium battery recommended for a Galaxy. It's about the biggest battery you can fit in the car. I fitted one in my car about 6 months ago and it has not given any problems. I got mine form Battery2u.co.uk for around
  15. One favourite is the bonnet switch. When you drive the bonnet moves up and down slightly causing excessive wear on the switch.
  16. My mechanic has had a look. On the offside the flange of the sill has been squashed and pushed up into the sill. Will need to be cut out and a plate flush welded in, undersealed and re-sprayed. The nearside looks like it can be straighten, undersealed and re-sprayed.
  17. After looking closer the offside sill seems to have a piece missing. Not sure if sills can be replaced on the Galaxy. I'm well fed up with it at the moment and just feel like scrapping it.
  18. If you look at my past history I have had about three Galaxys and the dealership bent the sills on every one.
  19. Took my Galaxy in the have the alloys refurbished. Got the car back and the wheels are ok but then noticed the sills. It had been jacked up on both sills causing the flange to bend. He denied causing the damage stating they were already bent. After telling him I'll see him in court he said he didn't want any ill feeling and would repair them. When are these garages going to learn not to jack Galaxys up on the sills or any other car for that matter. Rant over..........................
  20. Clear the fault code and see if it comes back.
  21. I wasn't sure if there was a condenser unit in there, that's what I meant by separate, wrong description on my part. I get condensation drip from both front and back on mine.
  22. There is a unit behind the panel below the nearside rear window. This is why it has extra gas because of the two units. I'm not sure if it is a totally independent unit or if someone may have bypassed it for some reason. No doubt someone on the forum will give more info. Just to check, have you only got one rear window opening switch on the centre console?
  23. Is it in third gear, limp home mode, all the time?
