Right I have had the car on a snap-on machine and it has come up with B+ voltage low, had multimeter across battery and it reads 14.4V from the alternator. Does it mean the battery is goosed?

I got that. Had it on a computer and it has come up with B+ voltage low but alternator is kicking out 14.4v and is charging battery very nicely, I use the car every day so it's not like it is standing for months on end. If u do use them let me know how u get on pls.
