  2. 5w30 semi oil used It has a pd engine Starts ok so don't think it's heater plugs
  3. Why not send your turbo off to reconditioned that'll save money but you'll need maybe a week if where the vehicle is not required . Recon turbo around £300 from midland turbos I think when I called last
  4. Hi all Recently started getting quite a bad smokey start up on my 2000 mk2 galaxy 1.9 tdi white/grey in colour. After about 60 seconds of driving its ok but then if i switch on and off again it does the same. Any thoughts please?
  5. As the title suggests I've got code 00287 can I assume that's its just a straight forward sensor change to cure or any suggestions before I pay £50 for a new sensor? Thanks

Right code17964 low pressure turbo related I've read lots of different threads with lots of different remedies which is confusing me so could anyone who has/had this fault and cured it please advise what is the best way of dealing with it. I'm ready to send an old knackered turbo off for recon but don't want to spend loads if I can avoid it. I've read about spilt pipes faulty maf sensors etc My mark 2 1.9 tdi x reg is really down on power it's got a 52 plate PD engine in it which is 90 bhp It goes into limp mode at roughly 2000 rmp or above I'm lucky to get 65 mph on level roads any more pressure causes limp mode Up hill is just a joke I've got 40 tonners laughing at me lol So please please please helpppppp
  9. Also to add I have a severe lack of boost power whilst driving especially up hill Also motorway speed roughly 65mph at best anything over 2000 rpm then results limp mode
  10. Forgot to add I've cleared all faults now and will be driving during to day and will see what comes back

Just done a scan of my latest fault codes any help appreciated 01189 front air distribution flap motor (v145) 00926 terminal 30 sporadic 002 lower limit exceeded 01271 positioning motor for temp flap (v68) sporadic 009 open or short to ground 01148 activation of safety deadbolt locks in door sporadic short to earth (I have had issues with deadlock) 00988 lamp for brake light right (m10) static open/short 01135 interior monitoring sensors static no define 01149 deactivation of safety deadbolt locks in doors sporadic short 17964 negative pressure (turbo related) I'm about to send old turbo off tomorrow for recon...should I bother????

  15. My x reg mark 2 needs new flywheel I use it as a cab Been quoted around £500 for dual mass and clutch but also quoted £300 for single mass My mate reckons best go for single mass due to the type of work I use the vehicle for (constant stopping and starting) anyone agree or disagree?
