Gotta laugh..a while ago now my hubby parked the car in the garage and went to shut the door(overhanging one)...i told him that it wasnt back far enough...but being a bloke he knew best....so he slammed the door shut and thought no more of it till he went to get the car out the next day..ruddy thing wouldnt open...after a few hours he gave up trying to open it and called someone out to help....took them 2 hours and the reason the garage door wouldnt open wasa because the inside handle mechanism had wedged into the bonnet!!!lovely hole there was.....i said i told you it wasnt back far enough and he didnt speak to me for days!!bliss!! :ph34r:

Hmmmmmmm.....don't think so!!! :D Never is our fault....other buggers to blame for putting the kerbs/posts/other cars in the way! B) Woman are better drivers...why else do we get CHEAPER car insurance?? :D We will never let you forget it if you blame us and it turns out it was you! B)

Right.....i dont have a clue what is wrong with the alternator,on the invoice from the first garage it says that the diode pack is burnt out....2nd garage hasnt had chance to look at it yet as he is going on what the first garage said...do i trust the first garage???no.do i trust the 2nd garage???yes.2nd garage is taking the alternator out of the car tomorrow and giving it to me to bring home.the alternator belt is intact...we have plenty of time to get this sorted as the car is sorn declared.its off road now.no point paying the road tax if its not on the road as it was due to be taxed at the end of jan.if someone could look at it that would be great as the garage doesnot mind if i sort it myself as he is aware of all that has gone on with the other garage etc...he knows that i amtrying to get a crash course in mechanics to try and solve the problem myself.where abouts are you MM???. this car is gradually wearing me down now with everything that has gone on...all i would like is the ruddy thing sorted once and for all. I am gratefull for all the help you all are giving me in trying to sort this out.please bear with me if i lose the plot a bit as there is so much going on at the mo!! :D

the altrenator in the car is a 120 amp one.MM....you say you have someone who overhauls alternators....if i sent it to you...could you do mine???

Got a phone call this morn from the garage that originally had the car saying that the letter was a pack of lies and that the tyre was an oversight! he claims that HE told me that the car was not being looked at till the thurs...nope..was your secretary i am afraid that told me the car was going to be ready on the wednesday... he claims he came down to help us push the car...when???....i never saw him neither did my instructer... Claims i never had an asthma attack...yes i did. said he'll sue us if we try to sue him, for a dishonest claim....go ahead.. said that it was obvious that we couldnt afford to get the car fixed so just wanted the money back! :) as for the condition of the seat he said that it was a family car and wasnt clean anyway!(maybe...but they dont put oil/grease on the ruddy seats!) the seat they put it on was the one we put the car seat on...took the thing out be it went to the garage said ythat he personally washed and polished the car.....i laughed on the phone.i washed it on the sun and it came back filthy on the thurs eve. so....he has offered to bung us

got heated windscreens but not seats...120 is what keith said...but ill have a look if i get time this morning seat/mm.thx for that..i was wondering sa most of the ones i have seen are 90amp. :)

Its under your bonnet on left hand side...black thingy.mind you...dont think that would cause your car not to start.Check your main fuse feed box,(fave of mine) Its a wee black box that has a thick black cable going into it. the others will be along soon enough with more technical jargon than you can shake a stick at!! ;)

Right guys....been told by garage that i need a 2lite diesel 1.3volt alternator....i have been scouring round,(on e-bay)..if any of you guys happen to find one on e-bay(that i miss)...can you please let me know????..Hopeing to save some money!! Asked hubby if keith gave him a part number...he said no..but have got other half to ring to check.(or if you know of somewhere where i can get one cheap.) Thanks peeps.xx ;)

All we want is for them to pay for the cleaning of the seat and the distress caused to me.ok, so a ford galaxy doesnt have a lot of boot space.But there is enough room for tyre if it is upright.They could have done this.instead they elected to chuck it onto a seat.I am newly diagnosed asthmatic so dont as yet know everything that can trigger it off.But i do know that pushing the car in -2 degrees(which is what it was on thurs aft)does set it off combined with being furious at being fleeced! My local garage down the road has looked at the car and has quoted us
